What are some visual features that you would like to see more often on LIs or MCs?

There are features that occur quite often on LIs or MCs. For example, many MCs have brown hair. But there are also some with a more unusual appearance such as heterochromia. No matter how common or rare it may be, what would you like to see more often?

I'd love to see more glasses! Especially on MCs—there are currently little to none of them, and it would be such a nice, relatable touch.

im gonna shamelessly admit that i have a Thing (call it a fetish) for "faceless" lis. like, if his face is obstructed by a mask, or clothing, or anything else. preferably fully, but im okay with partial obstruction too. think clear from dmmd, phantom from persona, kiiiiinda tsukuyomi from olympia soiree? i havent read it yet, but looks like this character from bad apple wars is a *perfect* match for my tastes. eugene from sins of kaleido is very nice too, but i think i like it when eyes are hidden the most.. so id like to see more lis like that in otome..<3
i also think it would be lovely to see more crossdressing lis, but not to the point where theyre indistinguishable from women. i love handsome men in dresses!!!!!
oh and also moles/beauty marks. especially when its a "double" beauty mark under one eye. so, something like kazehaya from enstars has! pretty sure it has a name, but i forgot it.....<:(

as for heroines, im insanely biased, but i want more pink-haired ones. no justification. i just think pink is a very cute colour, and pink girls are the cutest little things in the whole universe.....!!

I really enjoy watching the "Beast Ears" series, and also the "Beast Eyes" ones. The concept of being half-human and half-beast is quite fascinating. I prefer a variety of hair colors. If a work has the same hair color for all the characters, it can lead to visual fatigue, and the recognition value might also be a bit low.

I like male characters with beauty moles like under their eye or on the face. Also in otome cds I see lots of male characters with idols concepts with aegyosal and I think they're really good looking

MCs with glasses can also be interesting from a story perspective! There are all sorts of different scenarios you can create out of the MC losing her glasses and thus having problems seeing everithing and finding her glasses again! You could even make everything exept the text a bit blurry during that scene for visual effect.

Interesting! Maybe you like it that much because it can make a character more mysterious? It makes it seem like he is hiding something.

Also yes to pink-haired heroines. Every MC with a haircolour you cant find in real life is a plus in my opinion. We dont get enough of them!

i think so yeah! i also really love it when the face isnt shown till the very end. and even after the end! sure, this might make certain cgs very difficult to execute (like kiss cgs if its a full face mask), but still.. im just such a fan..... its like something is in plain view at an arm's reach yet still unavailable to you.........
(maybe it has something to do with me being unable to have eye contact irl LMAO)

I normaly dont like beauty moles, but they can look really good on certain characters or in certain artstyles!

You're speaking my language! It's such a criminal waste of opportunity. Imagine a LI putting glasses on a heroine, or even better - taking them off... It should be a classic, but sadly it's not

Red haired LIs really are fun!
Now that I think about it... I havent really seen many MCs with long black hair. It is either shorter or a different color for the most part.

I'd like MCs with darker/black hair and more mature features. Sorry but im getting tired of the light brown/blonde haired, doe eyed MC with pale skin who has a face in every CG lmao. The prevalence of light haired MCs in otome is getting tiring and distastefully reminds me of how obsessed east asian media is with Eurocentric features

i'd love more colorful hair for both the mcs and lis! i think something like split dyed , dip dyes or even dyed undercuts can be so cool since a character's main color / representative color reflects their personality in some way so having that be displayed in their hair as well can look super nice ^^

also +1 on the need for more masked characters ... it adds to the mystery (or danger) so well even if you know what they look like and imo it's even better if the mask is hiding scars or burns <3 that threat of only having someone's voice to rely on since you cant tell just from their eyes or expression if they really mean what theyre saying can be so exciting lol in the same way i'd loveee more tattoos and piercings even if theyre hidden ^^

ive lowkey given up on expecting too much from this but i would also love more melanin in my designs please or atleast some actual blood flow lol !!! cronoll's design in CC is such a treat to me (i love that they went with a dark blue tone for his hair it's too good) and i reallyyy hope future releases have designs like this too (i would really love if this came true for a mc's design)

I love characters with hidden eyes as well, but I'm particularly biased towards ridiculously long bangs lol (like Masaya from Club Suicide, or Mr. Crawling from Homicipher! I'm looking forward to Mekakare ;b) though I love masks too! Clear was my favorite in DMMD, and I really wanted the Gas Mask to be a LI in Bad Apple Wars, haha

Other traits I like both in LIs and MCs is droopy eyes/tareme (especially paired with dark circles), and sanpaku eyes! I think they look very cute :)
I'm big on piercings too, all kinds! But a decked out ear is particularly cool. I'd love to see some MCs with a bunch of piercings <3

also good catch about sanpaku!! lately i developed some sort of fondness for sanpaku eyes.. maybe because it makes men look more boyish, so i find it adorable.....?

Glasses and every possible variation of them! It seems like the number of LIs with glasses has dropped a bit lately, so I'd like to see at least two per game. And more white-haired characters with glasses (like Ryuken from Bleach: a serious, older man who appears cold on the outside, keeping everything to himself and suffering in silence).

Heterochromia is interesting too, though whenever it comes up, I can only think of Lysander from "My Candy Love"; it's not very common in otome games, so he's the only one who comes to mind. I find it really beautiful, just like the lilac or purple eyes some people with albinism have! Oh, albinism would also be cool to see and explore in otome games.

More "snake/serpentine LIs": the kind with closed eyes and that mischievous smile that used to be so common back in the day. I miss LIs who rarely open their eyes but have that signature smile that makes you go weak at the knees (like Gin from Bleach, and Snake from Kuroshitsuji! Sorry, I can only think of manga characters as examples right now.). Or perhaps blind LIs who, when fighting, can see "the transparent world" – where people appear only as outlines revealing their silhouettes, while the rest of the world is pitch black, and only the contours of bodies and the environment are "visible".
