Bruh, same. I genuinely think that the progress has either stagnated or even went backward from the pre-2020 era. I'm not saying the technology, some creators indeed really immersed themselves into blender and focusing too much on render quality

I feel the same way, there was this enormous model/tech upgrade spree and it's commendable.. but also feels like 90% of the creators eventually moved on from the erotic side of MMD in order to focus on the raw porn side of it. I don't know how else to explain it, but going back to stuff even from 2016 you can just feel a different kind of soul going into the motions/expressions/concepts.
