I recently found out that Valko was going to be the new LaDS LI. And although I didn't think he quite fit the game's vibe (especially given the appearance of the other LIs) my reaction was just: "Oh, okay. That won't affect my gameplay; I'll just keep pulling Zayne, Caleb, and Rafayel's cards like always, without worrying about another LI."

However, I saw that a lot of people were angry about the character – even though we knew nothing about him, as he hadn't been introduced to the story yet and nothing significant had been revealed– and his design. People started attacking him for various reasons, even bringing up the issue of "women's safety" and the Unit 731 incident. And since Valko's teaser was released (about a week ago), there have been approximately 50,000+ formal complaints, 2 million+ comments on a single post, and about 1 million followers lost across all platforms (in China)...

I remember the situation with Sylus was a little similar, but with Valko it was much worse... Now the main story will be delayed, and everything will be redone since he was supposed to be introduced in the main storyline in this new update and everything was already set. They're going to remove him from the game entirely; he won't even appear as a background character... I feel sad for his fans and for those who started playing the game again because of him, but I don't think the petitions or complaints being made will bring him back.

The LaDS community is similar to the Genshin community, unfortunately... People complained about Sylus when he was released because they didn't want another LI in the game! They made a huge fuss, tried to boycott the game, and demanded he not be added, but Infold ignored them and released Sylus anyway.

Wow, all that just because of an additional LI? Infold could have ignored Valko's complaints this time too!

kkkkk na verdade ê por causa da criatura da Biblia e porque é minha summon favorita no jogo Final Fantasy. Quando joguei o Obey me e vi o Leviathan fiquei mais feliz ainda com o nickname XD

Not gonna repeat everything I said in the other LADS thread lol

I don't even go here, but I have some rants anyways under the spoiler. I'm sorry:

The drama is outright insane and there's a lot of misinformation everywhere to the point where I had to unfollow an artist from a completely unrelated fandom because she compared the situation to what happened to Limbus a few years back. Which I can say while they seem similiar at a standpoint especially with the crazy parasocials, the cause is much different since Project Moon's completely innocent and there wasn't much problems to be found with their game (other than the spaghetti code) while there's a lot of problems with PaperGames both inside and out of their games. Also, people tried to kill PM while people sent literal shit to PG, it could've been so much worse even if they're both bad. I bet content farming Youtubers that barely research are salivating right now and are willing to make videos about LADs for a quick buck without any regards and add to the fire.

Some people on social media are fearmongering that CN otomes are gonna get banned like AO3, which is absurd. Ouright banning an entire genre is a lot harder than banning a website (which could easily be done through a firewall) to the point where censorship's just a lot easier. Even then, Snowbreak got in trouble with the governent (for their actions, such as circumeventing regulations) and got censored to hell but other CN gacha games of the same calibur such as Azur Lane were not affected. And it would be flat out stupid for the goverment, even if they think women can't tell the difference between rl and fiction, to ban their game industry from developing games for women as the big CN otome gachas shown that they have a lot of spending power (and game development is super expensive btw). And, as Hoyo shown, some studios can move out of China.

There's a lot of other points I want to talk about, but I would be writing an essay atp lol

This could have been all avoided if they had better management and communication. Nothing is actually solved with his removal.

I feel so sad with Valko, I'm not playing love deep but I really interesting in him

In this time I feel like I lost my crush , but never got a chance to confess my feelings to, is gone. 😭😭

But I also understand about 731 situation and many other incidents followed, all of which were the fault of the paper company. I hope everything ends well.

Theres so much info/misinfo out there on twitter esp.... I dont know if theyll ever release Valko again, I hope they will, but I hope the infold games will still be playable globally....

they should've waited a little more to let the hate die down and kept releasing sneak peaks of his content before releasing him. Both Sylus and Caleb, who are now very loved by the players, received massive hate online before their launch. I doubt it would've been that different for valko.

this isnt why he was removed. infold used him as a scapegoat because they got reported to ccp for referencing 731 in their story. the """gayness""" aspect doesnt even matter in the slightest and is currently weaponized by misogynists to try and accuse otome players (and the genre itself) of being homophobic
the main concern is about female team being replaced with male team and the character himself being made appealing to males (in a female-oriented game) and westerners anyway, which is a valid criticism

I'm not a player, but ever since the new love interest was announced, posts about him have kept showing up on my feed. When I first saw the PV, I also felt that his style was quite different from the other five characters, but I didn't think much of it. As more and more promotional content came out, his personality gradually took shape. He turned out to have such a charming gap—he looks so big and intimidating, yet he's incredibly adorable in private. I've always had a soft spot for that kind of contrast, and before I knew it, I'd grown attached to him.

I don't want to get into the arguments surrounding the company or parts of the player community. I just feel that, as a character, he's been treated unfairly. Seeing someone get relentlessly bullied online, then watching a character who was so close to being born get erased just like that... it's genuinely heartbreaking.

I hope they fix things and bring back Valko (╥_╥). I love the husbandos, but given the company's decisions regarding the global server, I've decided to drop the game ಥ_ಥ

That's right! They're going to rework the entire main story to remove Valko from the game completely; that's why the game is going on "hiatus"/pause and the main story is being delayed.

I hope he comes back too; it feels really unfair to remove him like this, especially after he'd already been revealed and was a hit on the global server... But it's unlikely Infold will reverse the decision, since it pleased a large part of the Chinese community – and since the Chinese community generates the most profit for the game, they have the final say on everything.

Unfortunately, for Chinese companies, we on the global server don't matter and carry no weight compared to the Chinese segment😔

he was a hit on global, but on cn side, girlies quickly noticed the amount of recycled content hes been teased with, so even if he was released in the current state, this would be a pretty clear slap in the face for fans of already existing characters:"3c

this is the vip cs though, and according to vip girlies this cs has never lied to them so far. nevertheless since they were hit so hard its highly unlikely that 6th li is on the way. and even if he is, thats not a good thing considering how theyre already struggling with existing 5

This is only a rumor but I've heard part of the reasons why Chinese players were angry was because one customer support also confirmed there would be only 5 LIs - this was waay before the Valko shenanigans. which was why many players were really surprised (in a bad way) when they added a 6th LI.

At first their apology a few days ago made it seem like Valko was there to stay too, in the story. But it took them mere days to flip and erase him.

what I'm saying is, Infold and their CS might flip-flop between sides depending on who holds more power. I'm interested in seeing if they'll keep their stance after a month - and if players will actually boycott, because, has there ever been a successful global boycott...? Some say there are CN Valko fans too, but are there that many, enough to sway Infold's decision *shrugs*

Truly feels like I'm watching an episodic drama. "Stay tuned for the next episode next month" something like that lol. It's more interesting than the game itself atp

I have to add, Infold managed to stir up the same drama for both of their otome games. I wanna see what's in the brains of the ppl running that company, how do u screw up twice
 
I started playing the game this year but I couldn't get into it, the current LI weren't massively for me, maybe Zayne, but I was very meh. However I still very much get LADs on my tiktok even tho I'm not involved and reading up on Valko I enjoyed the loveable personality, and could've seen myself getting back into this tbh.
