Thoughts on shota/youger li?

I'm not really sure about shota LIs, haha, but I absolutely love younger LIs!! I always find it so fun when the MC initially sees them more as a younger brother, and they keep trying to get her to see them as a man instead. I also love it when they get jealous of the older men around the MC.

And honestly, watching the MC gradually start seeing that younger LI as a man rather than just a little-brother figure—and getting flustered and confused by her own feelings—is such a fun dynamic too!

I'm okay with younger li, but with shota, there's a certain discomfort.
 
I am fine with younger LI but shota is definitely no for me. I don't really like the personality type of most shota characters, and I am not a fan of their character design. Playing their routes are honestly uncomfortable for me so I kinda pretty much skip through the route when I'm trying to complete the game or I need to in order to unlock the other LIs
 
Not find it appealing as well, because i always more into ojisan than shota
 
I don't have a problem with younger LIs (especially when they called us "sis" or "senpai") as long as their age isn't too far from mine. But I also don't have a problem with shota like depends on how they are written for shota category
 
I hate it! I wish I could erase all the "shota" LIs from otome games. To me, there is no need for a shota love interest! If I play a game that has a route for a character like that, I just ignore him and pretend he doesn't exist (like Wataru from Brothers Conflict: I never started his route and I never will! His route is completely unnecessary).

And if the love interest is simply younger than the heroine – without being a shota–, I still won't play it! I'm not interested in younger men, whether they're of legal age or not. Even in a game, the idea of getting involved with a younger man makes me uncomfortable.
 
I like younger LIs, esp when they try to act more mature to make up for being younger in age and their lack of height lol. But younger LIs that don't LOOK younger than MC are just kinda whatever, sometimes I forget that they're the token younger character if it's not apparent in the way they look or act

Haven't seen many actual shotas as LIs, but I generally prefer them as side characters. I admit, I do like seeing them turn from cutie angels to total bishies after a time skip (it's like the same appeal as seeing a megane with their glasses off), and I'm also weak to them calling MC onee-san...
 
I like them if they don't act too childish or immature! But i usually prefer older lis to younger ones.
 
I don't care, I'll say it, I LOVE SHOTAS! Sadly, the otomes I had played had zero shota (only younger LI, which I also love) and a mobile phone one which I don't think it counts as an otome had one but it was a little sweetie that you HAD to protect at all costs, so I didn't see him as a romanceable boy(?
So, I'm happy with younger LIs or the ones who looks like shotas when actually are the same age as the MC or even older.

Probably Because I Played A Lot Of Old ROM Games With The Ability To Be A Girl And Date Guys , Almost All Of The Art Was Chibi/Cute So It Became A Part Of My Preferences .

I also like shota characters, but the issue comes down to the age gap. If they're too young, or if the age difference with the heroine is too big, it makes me feel like I'm committing a crime.
That said, in most otome games, these characters are usually only one or two years younger than the heroine, which is within an acceptable range for me.
But ultimately, I base my decision on their story and character writing—for example, there are cases where a character looks like a shota but is actually older than the heroine.
 
Absolutely no shotas for me ty, those remind me of games releasing fan service loli characters for those old man players. But younger-but-still-look-and-act-like-an-adult ros like Noiz from DMM are my fave!

REALLLLL but unfortunately shota is already niche enough, and even inside that niche most shota content is aimed either at men or fujoshi, so female shotacon are left starving..
luckily though theres zeroera coming soon, which is a mobile game and not otome sadly but! its full of delicious shota<3

I like shotas but shotas in otoge as romance interest... I have mixed feelings. It depends heavily on the way they handle their route.

There's some younger LIs I absolutely adore like Wataru in HanaKare or Shin (Amnesia). So I think it really comes to the story writing.

But yeah I wish we have shotas Blue Archive....
 
I do like younger li, but only to a certain extent. For example, MC is 25, and the LI is 23. Especially if they have a puppy-like feeling -> they can be dominating or submissive, both is a delicious character trait.

I think younger LI really shines when MC is mature, older than the general otome MC age? No point in a younger LI if MC herself is already quite young.

Mature MC with a young puppy LI who really likes you, or gets embarrassed easily is so cute.
 
I'm not a fan of shota as a LI, it makes me uncomfortable. I do like younger LIs, but only if the age gap isn't too big (in cases where MC is young).

I love the thrill of seeing a cute young boy grow into a charming adult man—that contrast really gets my heart racing—but if he stays a young boy, he just feels like someone I want to protect...
 
I love them, they're one of my favorite LI types. If the chemistry is there and the writing is good, I'm all in.
 
Personally, I have absolutely 0 interest in younger characters like that, but I do not mind them being in otome games. Those kind of LIs are the type of some women out there, so they do deserve a place in otoge.
