Do you object to adult-rated works featuring male and female voices?

im guessing its not appealing if youre not particularly attracted to women?;w;
it's the super high pitched whining type noise (ehm I'd link an example but lol) and the constant "da me!" I think ^^; there's a couple I played that weren't as bad with it though which is why I said it's not *all* of the voice work haha.

edit: I grew up playing a lot of erogame/galge stuff and it probably bothered me less back then but now that I'm old, it's more of a turn off I guess haha. but I figure it's probably at least part of why some women (even if they like women) might be put off by heroine voice work.

i get you i get you! i finished reading a route in hadaka shitsuji an hour ago and it had a sex scene with a girl and her voice was so egregiously highpitched it was literally painful to listen to LOL. a good balance in erotic works is a must!

Personally, I'm not really a fan of it.
In explicit scenes, the female voice makes me feel kind of uncomfortable. In otome games, I tend to self-insert. In audio dramas, the listener is the protagonist.

Having a female voice acting out the role just makes me feel like I'm outside the story. Another big reason is that the tone or delivery of the female voice often isn't quite what I'd like — sometimes it's too loud, other times it feels awkward or even sounds painful. Sorry if I'm being too picky.

Unfortunately theyre not for me. Im a chronic self inserter so having a female va would just have me constantly going "🤓👆 erm actually I would never say that" whenever she says something i wouldnt do lmaoo, especially if their voice is more high pitched and child-like... like I listen to otome cds to escape the male gaze, not to be subject to it again 😭 like it reminds me that Japan is still entrenched in very traditional views of women sometimes (not all!)

Personally, I wouldn't listen to that. I love otome content because it is 100% for women and the female gaze. I don't want anything in otome content that could be male-gazy or that tries to attract a male audience.
In voiced works I also want to self-insert, which wouldn't work anymore then. I'd just be a third wheel.

if it's scripted and mixed well, i love dynamic audios with accompanying voices within the story.
(ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ)♡

except when it comes to the heroine or listener, i am very much a self-inserter and prefer to imagine my own responses for immersion especially when its r18 titles. there's very few that uses a female VA that's appealing to women and their preferences to female voices rather than turning it into AV levels centered on men. (¬‿¬ )
no one knows how to make stuff exclusively for women even to this day, huh..;w;
i understand wanting something gender-neutral so more people can enjoy, but whenever something is obviously geared towards accomodating men and what they would find enjoyable while in a title or genre predominantly designed for women, it drives me up an absolute wall. especially when it comes to games, it's so obviously a skewed scale of games designed for the male gaze versus ones intended for a female audience. not to mention which ones are expected to edit and bend to be more inclusive...so it's hard not to want to be protective of female spaces and media. ٩(๑•̀ㅂ•́)و

Personally i don't really like cds that have female voice
I had to skip a lot of good cds because of that T_T

Because for me, the otome audios are for self-insert and it feels like you are interacting with the male lead :D! Im okay if there is female voice but as mob or just slight interaction with the characters (not include the r18 scenes because i hate the "cheating" tag 😭)
But if it is male lead x female lead (with female voice), it lowkey feels like we are just the outsider watching the whole thing and making me feels like we are just kinda third wheeling lol :D

Still, it is understandable that some likes having female voice as well for many reasons, like better understanding of the situation happening in the track :D!

Personally, I prefer works where only the male characters are voiced. I don't mind female voices when they serve a purpose, such as adding to the atmosphere or fitting naturally into the story. However, when the heroine is fully voiced, I feel like it breaks my immersion a little. I enjoy imagining myself in the protagonist's place and feeling like I'm the one interacting with the characters, so having a constant female voice makes that self-insert experience less effective for me. That said, I think it really depends on the context. If the female voice is there because the scene or the story calls for it, I don't mind it. What I enjoy less is when it makes me feel like I'm watching someone else's romance instead of experiencing it from the heroine's perspective. 🎀

I think they probably made a separate version for people who don't like the female character's voice in the CD. Honestly, I'm not really a fan of it either. I think they might have made it that way so the listener can feel like they're putting themselves into the story, maybe? But in the end, I don't really have a problem with it. I'm okay with either version, but having a separate option would be really nice.

I don't mind them that much, but prefer it without a mix unless its bi content. The usual squeaky voice kinda snaps me out of immersion I guess. I like my fem voices a little on the huskier side, feels less like JAV type stuff haha

I do like it. If it's just one person talking the whole time, it feels like the story loses its flow. I want dialogue, not something that leaves everything up to the viewer's imagination… But I can also understand why some people don't want a female voice actor; I'm just hoping to see more works like this.

Personally, I prefer it when the heroine doesn't have a voice. I think it's because I tend to imagine what the protagonist sounds like before I actually hear it; if the voice actor's performance doesn't match that mental image, I end up feeling disappointed. That said, there are times—like when I just want to observe and enjoy the world from a detached perspective—where I do appreciate having a female voice included. However, if the game features a voiced heroine, it might not quite fit the standard "otome game" mold anymore. Still, for titles that lean heavily into comedy and focus on relationships that are "more than friends but less than lovers," I would definitely like to hear the heroine's voice.

It's interesting when the MC has her own personality, and the whole point is the dynamic between characters, where a silent MC just doesn't work. Also, the MC's voice matters to me, I don't like too high-pitched voices.
