Okay do you guys have a particular Otome CD that has... weird themes and scenarios that you can't help but be curious with?

I have been personally collecting those CDs with weird situations and plotlines, basically. I love more comedic and darker CDs too, so any that just makes you laugh or be all "WTF" is welcome.

"Revenge Salon" for sure, its so disturbing with so much gore, definitely not for the faint-hearted so if you're a vanilla girl avoid this at all costs lmao. Make sure to check for trigger warnings too, its pretty heavy 😭

I'm intrigued. Do you have any examples?
I have a few

For the more "Bruh that's a weird fetish" ones, there's always Hentai Kareshi and some of the Hyouhai Kareshi ones, but those if you got a stomach for non-vanilla stuff. Lots of interspecies stuff that has more... odder anatomical ways to repopulate a lost alien race.

For the "Just kinda weird" ones, there are scenarios where you have afterlife sex with various Mythological Gods, there's a LOT of Magical Girl and Sentai themed scenarios that goes into porn parody territory. I remembered there are some CDs that have a "You laugh you lose" aspect where you have to laugh as the scenarios but also be okay with getting sexy with it-

Like any Drama CD that is just "Wait you can put THAT in a Drama CD?"

Shinai Naru Thanatos, especially the latest one. I was surprised to find out that some of the characters in this series were inspired by actual famous real life criminals, and one of the latest ones is Ted Bundy. At first, i only knew Ted Bundy as a murderer who mainly targeted women.

I immediately listened to it because Domon Atsushi. But after listening to it, i realized this guy is actually crazier and way more disturbing compared to the other. He killed those women because they reminded of us, and he didnt just kill them, but also did sex to their bodies afterward. Like, what do you mean "A living being really dont make me brick"? Wtf? And yeah, after that he tortured us bcs he was actually want a revenge for planning to kill us. But in the end, he didnt do it bcs he still loved us.

I was also annoyed by the tokuten. He did get captured and arrested by the police, and we were checking on him in prison. But he was so calm, like he thought he wouldnt be locked up. I ended up looking into the real killers background too and i didnt expect the details to be that accurate compared to the real person, like how he also worked as a lawyer.

AYO I LOVE SHINAI NARU THANATOS (Especially since I'm a True Crime fan that's in it on how the writers execute the SK inspirations well). I'm personally more of an Eito Seo (Sumeragi Mikado's CD) fan and have drawn fanart of him. <3

I recently got Domon Atsushi's CD as well because Mikado Ren of Rouge et Noir fame is the scenario writer. I did like that she genuinely did have fun with her research as she wrote a spot-on fictionalized take on Bundy's relationship with his college ex that the breakup kickstarted his murder spree of victims that have MC's haircut. Lots of Yanderu but not a lotta Yandere tho-

The DLSite Tokuten was actually more of an alternate scenario where Banba was caught and imprisoned and is in the middle of the trial that he himself likely is making a spectacle of (Which the prison call scene is meant to be a reference to the movie "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile") He then convinces MC that what they did during the sex scene was totally consensual and BDSM play so the touku was just him trying to gaslight MC with an alternate, more romantic take of the scene.

I heard the Pokedora Toukuten was WAY WAY MORE wtf as it tackles Banba killing the MC and before cremating her, gives her corpse a go one last time. He then convinced his parents to marry the MC and in Saltburn fashion, take EVERYTHING she and her family has. All in soloquy talking to her grave with him being bricked about remembering it. No sticking anything in grave soil sadly

Ooo, that does sound quite funny, but also really intriguing haha. I haven't seen any sentai stuff yeah, but it makes sense that there's a market for it!

Mythological gods and interspecies seems quite common though? There are quite a few games about mythological gods, but maybe it is rarer in drama cds.

Ah, so theres actually another tokuten and its just part of the volume ending....? Okay.... Thats not fair. THAT ENDING WAS SO UNFAIR??!! WTF?*!!*@$-

I literally even made up an extra scenario if this bastard got released, she will hire a hitman to take him out. Like, how does the excuse of "We broke up" even come close to making up for the crimes he committed against his victims and us?????

Yes, i do feel bad about your family background and even dont know who your biological father is, but WHO ARE YOU TO THINK THAT GIVES YOU RIGHT FOR TREAT US LIKE THIS?#?
#?!?

But outside of this discussion, like you said, i genuinely happy and enjoying so much to see how the writer really puts their passion and idea into their story. Sometimes listening just moan track full makes my head hurt, so i look for asmr which focuses more on the plot and story.

...whats wrong with me

With no doubt, the Nureba series.(濡羽の家の祟り婚)
Literally "curse" with no joke.

It was a piece I met just when I moved one small step beyond all-ages otomes, and the impact is still there. Like... O-okay, t-that's what you meant for adult uhhuh. *shivers*

As the volumes progressed, right at the very end the true culprit behind the clan's cursed blood was revealed I despaired realizing there was no salvation ahead...

I knew it after quite a few years since its released, and I lacked even the courage to search for reviews, so I kept it locked away in my chest. :p
Yet every time when I come across similar plots, my stomach clenches tight and cries "ah sh**, here we go again" wwww

But here's also me who enjoy plot-heavy otomes. ✨

For me, it's Kamikakushi (神隠し) series.

focused on urban legends and horrors. The plot are heavy and often give me "WTF IS HAPPENING" reaction lmaoo. I love the va voice a lot.(Katagiri Ryoichi).
If you like supernatural horror type of R18 voice drama, give this series a try💕

I actually have that series and ngl I kinda learned who voiced the guy in the Winter CD and it was a treat overall. Always love myself some period piece J-Horror but how the "curse" happened was so ... weird LOL

Fictionalized gods, but the ones like Shiva, Anubis, Yama... yeah those ones LOL

dlsite.com/girls/work/=/product_id/RJ01311609.html oh and this one I was thinking of because the title is wild xD sometimes the titles in general are just crazy. I've been wanting to try getting into some of the more comedic ones, I usually lean towards dark interesting stuff myself but I've been curious about the romcom style ones haha

I get you. I'm actually not super into the "asmr" aspect since I don't get like "tingles" or anything and actually the ones that have too much licking noises, I usually end up fast forwarding/skipping through those parts ^^;;; like for the r18 stuff, I'm more into it for moaning/breathing and the scenario anyway. but yes, I am most interested in the interesting story stuff outside of the standard "spank bank" material.

I do think it's interesting since there is always the general opinion of women's erotica focusing on story and needed more substance than other things. The dark stuff is definitely very interesting to me. (One of the reasons I consume yandere contents a lot) I did also grow up watching a lot of true crime type stuff myself (I got that from my mom I think who was always watching that stuff and reading stephen king xD ) My *only* complaint is that usually it's too short! it's like reading one-shots! I always want to know more haha

I took a look at the description, and personally for me it does not look enjoyable at all 😭 I'm glad if the girls can get their just revenge though

Shinai Naru Thanatos sounds INSANE. I think fictionally serial killers is fine, but inspired by irl serial killers is a bit too much for me. The jacket and the disc art is so beautiful though, 柴寅 did a really good job.

THIS LOOKS SOOOO INTERESTING. Oh I'm so suspicious as to why all four male leads have the same habit of biting his finger when he thinks. And why do 2/4 of them like eating river fish and 1/4 of them hate it.

Yep yep. At first, i was interested in drama cd bcs yandere characters actually made me feel creeped out. For some reason, yandere in SFW stuff sometimes feels like doesnt reach full potential, and i noticed a lot of the darker ones are usually in NSFW.

The good thing about NSFW content like this is the authors have more freedom to explore and write whatever ideas they want. But... lately, a lot of yandere stories feel kinda repetitive. Another drugging, kidnapping, and non-con? Like okay, here we go again...

And once i already figure out the whole story and what kind of ending its going to have, i immediately just drop it. Or i skip this r18 time and go straight to the point of the story bcs i dont have patience to wait.

At this point, i'd rather listen to something more vanilla and wholesome stuff. Sometimes it makes me happy because i can immerse myself in the situation, like i have a boyfriend and we're joking around with each other. It feels like actually in a relationship. Yeah, more better than a lot recent yandere story. Even the vanilla stuff feel more have variety plot than this yandere genre 🤷

And yeah, about that too. Im genuinely interested in how women's erotica differs from men's, like why it tends to focus so much on the story and emotional aspects. Like, even the cover of the title are usually more covered up and have artistic elements, compared to male oriented where they often just focus on boobies..

Hahah i get you. I actually hate this Ted Bundy bcs how arrogant and narsistic he is. But, i cant help myself for listening to it bcs Domon Atsushi performance is soo... Chef's kiss ✨

I also find it funny seeing the low ratings on DLsite. Like, is this the title actually bad bcs the character is really that horrible, or bcs the actor did such a good job at portraying someone like that? 😂

Oh yeah, that's definitely pretty hard to differentiate. I was going to say maybe it's like movie reviews, then I remember that lots of movies with really hard themes or horrible protagonists still get shining reviews.

I would say that since the listener is supposed to put themself in the shoes of the partner of... Domon Atsushi's Ted Bundy (sentences I've never thought I would ever write), they probably just really hated the character and the character is really that horrible HAHAHA

There are a few titles released by the Parasite Garden circle that I think have "unique" scenarios. Especially their latest title release (Ushitora-sama), that having four BADEND—including BADEND 2 and BADEND 4—has become my favorite. And after reading SS after BADEND, I was a bit surprised by how BAD END 2 continues, since the heroine-chan can still remember her past even though Ushitora-sama keeps erasing her memories over and over, as if their lives were caught in a time loop—even though they're not. and also in BADEND 3 from SS after BADEND,
it becomes even clearer that the "game" Ushitora-sama has created is becoming more and more unique thanks to the help from heroine-chan—who has now become his wife—making it easier for him to prey on humans.

Another title kinda mindblowing for me from that circle is Calligura Control, I thought it was just a boyfriend who was really into his girlfriend getting NTRed on by her favorite idol, but it turns out the boyfriend did this to get revenge on her favorite idol

Last it's from ●●くん series, I just recently finished Kakeru-kun hen and wdym he putting ひごずいき (I didn't even dare to search for it; I just used a dictionary to figure out what it meant) inside heroine-chan and the last track is made me flabbergasted bcs I was deceived, why was I so relieved when he said he would give heroine-chan the morning-after pill, but ihe actually gave her an ovulation-inducing drug 😭

I'm just saying that after the 6 boys from the series being misunderstood mentally lost souls (though Vol 6's Kenya was WAY different from his SK inspo who was a tried and true woman hater), it was high time for a guy in Shinai Naru Thanatos to just be flat out hateable (but in a fun way Mikado Ren really went to town with her love for True Crime). LOL

Have you ever listened to any truly hateable men in drama CDs? The appeal is probably for people that love a good red flag right?

I'm just trying to imagine, Zenin Naoya as a drama CD protagonist HAHA

well, serial killers and such do get love letters and crazy stuff in prison. I mean, I'm 2D only so I can't understand it but people are weird lol. There are also situation CDs where the ML kills himself or kills the heroine so there is definitely all kinds for everyone haha. I just like to be able to feel the intense emotions from the performances.

and yeah, parasite garden has some interesting dark stuff. I am finally almost finished with the sleeping beauty series. previously I only had one CD and listened to it out of order so I went back and got the others for the full story from the beginning.

I like Parasite Garden too. Most of the stories are pretty interesting, and i love how they throw the plot twists near the end of the track. And Ushitora Sama work? I'd just call it "Mitsuhashi full fanservice project". Hmm, that remind me his other works with Nikaisen, 骨の髄まで運命で満たされてるから. Its really so bizzare why in the beginning she accept everything they order. And so until near end of the track. And even i little bit surprised after read the pdf about the story before they kidnapp her. She actually already been targeted by them from the beginning. Poor girl, idk if she (i mean us) actually get a paradise or actual hell? Surrounding by two big incubus with 2m tall, pretty tough challenge :alopro:

Caligula Control huh? I see. Interesting plot, memo memo 📝 📝

Hmm... A low morally psychopath guy and a god who lacks morality. What a fascinating comparison.

I think truly hateable characters only work in dark fiction. It all depends on how it can also hit your personal icks too.

The True Crime Fandom and Serial Killer fanatics is a HUGE rabbit hole in on itself, so I'm just sorta glad that the Audio CDs try to at least make SnT's SKs their own characters with their inspo's claim to fame. It does get a lot more blatant with the recent CDs, but they are trying LOL

Parasite Garden is great and Mikado Sumeragi's Bunny CD is amazing because when he nonchallantly says "pyonpyon" I felt that. I recently bought "Taken by the Tides" too and tbh... I kinda raise my eyebrow involving a vengeful merman taking MC as his mermaid bride to repopulate a dying civilization-
