If you were able to get rid of any one trope forever, what would you choose?

LOLLL the way this applies to MULTIPLE otome games, ngl I feel like it's in the weird spot of too freaky for the vanilla peeps and not freaky enough for the degens (it's me, I'm the degens). Like lukewarm coffee...
If it was done to my tastes I wouldn't have an issue with it. If they're going to incorporate incest into the plot for that romance then they need to fully go through with it. I don't have an issue if its done properly but it almost never is. I think that's why I find these characters and their routes to be so bland.

Specifically for BL games: 'I'm younger/older than you!' decides who tops/bottoms. It's a 'rule' that is unnecessary, stifling BS and far worse than obligatory sex between couples on the St. Valentine's Day. I'm just tired, boss.

The same person across past and present lives, but they insist on splitting his personality apart and then doing NTR. Do they even understand phased love? 😦 There's no need to make such a clear distinction.

The syndrome of stupid misunderstandings due to silence. We're talking about a plot pattern where the entire dramatic conflict of the route is built solely on the characters physically refusing to speak to each other. The heroine accidentally sees her crush with another woman, jumps to the wrong conclusion, and suffers for three consecutive chapters, while the crush hides an important secret "for her own good," creating a host of dangerous problems.

Male chauvinist. It's as if the heroine is just their accessory, having to do everything exactly the way they want. That's really annoying 😠

People really love miscommunication as a trope. It's immensely popular for authors of romance works to include despite a lot of the audience hating or disliking it. I'm assuming it is a cheap way to cause tension in the relationship and be the cause for a separation or break up that just needs to occur in romance plot lines, especially in English-language romance books. I also don't get it, or why it has to be so prevalent.

i'd be really evil and get rid of older taller buffer semes as a whole so every bl can fit my specific tastes and i'd have a buffet of food to choose from.

if i were to be nicer i'd just get rid of li's having romantic feelings/relations with non mcs regardless of route im just too much of a jealous person please don't put me in the cuck chair
