Tickets in mobile otome games

i am not patient or rich enough for that (;´ - `;)it takes a lot to just complete one character story. but mobile games have their own charm i understand people who pour their money onto them

I used to hate it, but nowadays, although I still find it a bit annoying and bothersome, I'm more understanding of otome games that use this mechanic to progress. After all, as a player who doesn't spend money on otome games, I appreciate that there's some way I can enjoy the main story without having to pay, even if I have to wait to replenish my tickets daily. To this day, I play games like Ikemen Sengoku, Vampire, and Prince that use this ticket system.

I can understand why they have such system, but it's annoying to me and I'm usually not patient enough to finish the game…

It's a little bit annoying, but I appreciate that there's a way for people who want to play for free (like me) to do so. I'm a pretty stubborn person, so I managed to get more than 1000 hourglasses in Mystic Messenger just by playing the same routes again and again lol. I'll probably do the same for other games. And if my anxiety is killing me and I really want to read my favourite character's route, then I'll watch it on YouTube (but I'd still try to complete all the routes)

I got most of mine by farming in the Christmas DLC; there's a cool bug to get hourglasses with Zen lol

Oh, I didn't know that. I have the Christmas DLC, but I haven't played it yet (Idk why, I guess I got too focused on getting all the other CGs lol). Now I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you!

I also never did the Christmas DLC in MysMe because I don't know the timing to start it, so when I tried to start it, I'd only get halfway through the chats, so I ended up giving up :/. I only did the Valentine's Day one and the continuation of Jumin's bad ending. I'll leave the link to farm hourglasses here:

Inflating Zen's ego = hourglasses muahaha. If you use more than one phone, it works too and I farm more hourglasses btw! I remember I used my brothers' phones back then and farmed a lot really fast XD

Honestly, I don't really like complicated systems like that either
But the developers made me love so many things about their games that I still keep playing them.

Sometimes I spend a little money on small packs or save up in-game gems and patiently wait… even if the results don't always turn out well (༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ)

Wow, Zen has always been a good way to farm hearts (he seems to like even some of the bad ending choices lol), but never to this extent. I'll try it this weekend, since it's recommended to start everything (the main game and the DLCs) at 00:00. Thanks for the video!

Not a fan of that system. If you decide to play without paying, it'll require a lot of time and patience. I sometimes end up losing interest because I never get to finish those games 😔

I didn't mind the system at all. I'm not one to binge read otome games, so the pacing worked well for me, especially if you play more than one game at the same time

I used to be so obsessed with 100 Sleeping Princes and the Kingdom of Dreams back in the day, and honestly, I spent a good amount of money on it. There are SO many male characters, and you literally have to pull them from the gacha just to read their stories... I mean, you can save up free gems if you grind hard enough, but if you lack patience, it's just easier to pay lol. As a gamer, I totally get spending money on mobile games, but I really hate it when companies get too greedy with the microtransactions.. I feel like it's such a waste of money now, so I don't even play mobile games anymore.

Not really. I can still be patient and wait my tickets to refill for I continue the next story. But if talking about the rule that must have to get a high fashion stats score from what heroine wearing just to qualify for the next part of the story (iirc old shall we date game system) well yeah, big no. I found that so annoying that I ended up dropping the game. The curse of F2P game i guess 😪

I really dislike this too. The few free tickets they give every day run out in less than two minutes. The story always cuts off right at the best part, which is such a terrible experience and totally ruins the immersion. This is why I just avoid these types of games now.

I don't like these kinds of introductions; tickets sell out quickly, the wait is unbearably long, and interest in the plot fades while you wait.

I hate them 🫠 i used to play a lot of games like that on my phone a long time ago

Super annoying, its why I stopped playing the ikemen series. What do you mean it's going to take me 2 months to finish a route? and that's logging in consistently. That is ridiculous! Hoenstly! And some of the games include a gacha system in it now?! Money hungry to the extreme!

I'm okay with it (provided the game has no gacha mechanics). I think the ticket system of older mobile games was pretty generous, (for example I finished all the routes of Shall We Date: Angel or Devil without spending anything). I actually first played Ephemeral ~ Fantasy on Dark~ in English as an android app with their free ticket/coin system before it got ported to Steam and Switch. I dislike having to farm for "premium" choices or scenes though (Arcana by Nix Hydra style). I like the certainty that the ticket system provides that I will eventually get access to the content even if it takes time.

The time limited nature of gacha stresses me out more (the irony of saying this with a gacha game PFP I know...)

As an usually free player (I tend to not spend unless I really love the game), I have plenty enough patience for tickets so I don't mind it. I think it's a way that works for both the players and the developer so that people have a way to play the game entirely for free but the developer can still earn money from people who are willing to pay for faster access to the entire story or just to support them.
