Do you read otome with or without guides?

I always play blind only.
Unless I get stuck in a loop of never-ending bad endings while trying to see a Happy ending instead. Happened twice so far. Once with Ankou (Virche) and then Kaguya (Taisho x Alice). Had no idea what I was doing wrong.

If the game is short then I'll go in blind, or if a walkthrough is just hard to find :v Otherwise, I always stick to a walkthrough. I like to min max my time and effort =))

I like to play blind but that doesn't mean I make random choices. I always choose what I'm more curious about, for example pursuing my favourite LI or deciding a plan of action depending on what I would do or what I think it's most fitting for the MC.

Getting stuck in Kaguya's bad endings is so real 😭 I also played blind and then with Kaguya i got all of the bad endings before i could get the good ending. I haven't played Virche yet but i see this comment as a warning...

Guides to optimize the experience, I like to just enjoy the story. There are some games that have dumb choices impact the endings... in a way that doesnt make any sense lol

I play without a guide. I like to make my own decisions without any influence. The only time I use a guide is when I get a Bad Ending (I hate getting bad endings) or the game is very complex and long, which makes me use a guide so I don't have to play it all again. (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

Game dependent. I first play blind, and if I haven't work out the play system or frustrating unlocking another route on 2nd play, that's when I search up a guide.

My pride always makes me think I won't regret my choices or that I'll easily get the good ending, but I always end up looking up guides anyway.

At least will try to play without one. Will looks for tips if lost and for a guide if "to hell with it" or if llm is in use for translation.

I prefer to play with guides. I hate it when I play a game for 10+ hours and then get the ending I didn't want. I'd have to start over or at least replay the same scenes again.

Without a guide? For me to do what, work for a happy ending? Absolutely not. Unless the route is so easy a child could accidentally stumble into it blind, I am opening that walkthrough immediately. ┐('~`;)┌

Don't worry, Virche is nothing like Kaguya's route.

But Virche is tricky. If I remember right, all of Virche's good endings (in Error Salvation) are locked until you clear the last route. You aren't meant to see them.
Ankou's Route is in Virche 2 (epic lycoris), and his ending depends on the route you do before it to unlock it. I didn't know that. That's why I got stuck there.

I always go blind on my first playthrough, and then use a guide to clean up the other endings lol. BUT for games like Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side, I literally have to look up a walkthrough from day one. I've never actually beaten that game without a guide, it's just waaaay too brutal

I go blind on my first playthrough, then use guide to collect endings or if I can't get the ending I want.
