Do people like console games ported to pc?

Yes! Especially if it's a game that can run in the background while I multitask. Larger screen is always a win.

I've heard of bad PC ports too though, I make sure to buy those on Switch.

Personally, I much prefer playing on PC. First of all, I love being able to enjoy games on a huge monitor screen.. and second, it's because of the Japanese translation lol. It's just SO much easier to use translation tools on a PC.

I use my laptop for general purposes so playing visual novels on it is a no-brainer. The only problem I have with some console-to-PC ports is how unoptimized they can be sometimes! It usually takes devs, if they care about it, 2 to 3 updates to fix everything LOL

I prefer playing on PC because it's easier, but if the game isn't on PC, I don't have a problem using emulators. If there are many differences between the original console game and the PC ported game, then I look into the pros and cons of each version and decide based on which one I like better.

absolutely!! bought a switch, and while it is comfortable to use because it is more portable than even laptops, it definitely is much better for otome to have PC ports
You can use your PCs for as long as you want and they're also for productivity purposes, but consoles change with each generation and you have to buy each one if you want the games that are there. Not to mention console prices are getting worse with each passing year. My laptop (and newer gen laptops I've seen around locally) are somehow cheaper than some of these consoles releasing these last years (???). The Switch 2 costs as much as a decent one here or more. Getting the first Switch was already hard for me 😅😅

edit as a sidenote: my laptop can emulate and managed to finish full otome (notably the two Virches and other Otomate games) and FE3H (Azure Moon), but emulation in general tends to be a mess for me (with Nintendo frequently taking down stuff, waiting for newer emulators to come so they can be compatible with newer releases and so on) and supporting otome devs through emulation is harder as you're limited to physical copies (which aren't always available 😓😓)

I don't care too much about games on consoles being ported to PC, since I own most of the consoles these games tend to come out on. Though, I would welcome PC ports for games that were R18 on the PC BUT IN Japanese and then had all their R18 content scrubbed so they could be on consoles, and then only the console version was translated. I know it's not technically a port, just untranslated for PC lol

I really like when console games get released on PC 😊
Before I had a console, I played a lot of games on PC. Even after I started playing on consoles, I still kept playing PC games too ✨

I don't really like it. I'd be happy if there were some new features, but for the most part, it's the same as the original version.

i'm a pc only player, so i'm really happy when i don't have to fight to death with emulators (especially switch ones... yuzu forks can't run many new games and ryujinx doesn't support my windows version ugh)
on the other hand, game ports can be done soooo halfheartedly, especially for older games 😔 often better than nothing, of course...
and i played bustafellows in kinda extreme conditions without a keyboard or a mouse, only with my drawing tablet, so i think i blamed bad controls on that and didn't really notice wwww

Bustafellows really does have bad controls 😅😅 I had to press every key trying to guess which is which kdbsjnf

which is odd, because I don't remember this happening often to me (TaiAli for example was very nice to use in terms of controls, Rejet games were also pretty normal in terms of key choices, I think Psychedelica was fine too but it was long ago since I played it 😅😅)

The PC is much more convenient, so I prefer it a thousand times over, hehe. 🎀

If ported games have nice optimization, why not! it's nice when more people will know about the game and have the opportunity to play it. i prefer to play on consoles though

I definitely enjoy the ease of access when games are ported to PC, but sometimes they don't land as well as an experience as they did as a handheld (touchscreen, split screen, rotation aspects, etc).

I do love when secret characters of different platforms are merged into one game so you don't miss out just because you lack *this* device when it came out. ლ(・﹏・ლ)

Mobile ports are getting more and more common but the dlcs' are lacking in comparison as not every dlc is ported over when just focusing on the main game leaving much wanted that *is* out there.

I also prefer PC, but isn't it usually the other way around? I think there are so many more console release than PC...

That's so true. Like you said, most of them are released on consoles. A lot of the time, they just port games that were originally on PC, PSP, or Vita over to the Switch. But thankfully, we're starting to see more console games getting ported to PC too! Games like Amnesia, Hakuoki, Ken ga Kimi, and Ozmafia are great examples. I'm sure there are probably even more out there, haha.

PC is always the best choice — bigger screen, better image quality, easier to install patches, and more convenient for using translation tools.
Most games that launch on PC are uncensored, but when they get ported to the Switch later, some content often ends up being altered or removed.

Here's a little tip — when you're using an emulator, you could try connecting a controller and let the emulator auto-detect and map it. That way, you can play on the emulator with the same button layout as on the Switch.

I really need it, but I hope it's a high-definition remastered version. Otherwise, just porting from PSP to PC would be really blurry.
However, most PSP games have already been released on PS Vita, and PS Vita ports to PC are also very good —
it's just that I would prefer an official translated version, so I no longer have to play using a translator.

Where I live, people really like it. The Nintendo Switch is expensive, and unless it's something difficult, most people have a PC, so it's more accessible. There really weren't any PC ports in the past, but it's nice that there are more recently. As for the porting environment itself... well, I assume most places just outsource it, so I don't expect much in terms of quality. I just love the big screen🤣
