What are your deciding factors when purchasing CDs or games?
Price, the staff involved (including voice actors), setting, title… there are many possible elements.

Of course, not many people decide based on just one factor, but you can list as many as you like.

What do you actually prioritize when making a purchase?

Setting, sale price, artstyle and reviews :Ddd I usually wait for the hype to die out to see what people are saying about it. The available payment method is such a pain in my case so I tend to carefully observe the game overall.

Depends on if the story and setting seem interesting. I also look at people's reviews to see if it is worth buying.

我买游戏看画风和故事,主要看故事,只要故事吸引我其他的就算差一些也没关系,不过画风实在不好的也确实没有玩的欲望。՞••՞

When I buy games, I consider both the art style and the story, with the story being the main focus. As long as the story captivates me, it doesn't matter if the other aspects are slightly lacking. However, if the art style is really poor, it does diminish my desire to play.՞••՞

These are the three factors I prioritize when making a purchase.
1.The fact that my favorite voice actor is in it.
2.The fact that the style is to my liking.
3.The fact that it's discounted.

For me, a big part is how interesting I think the story is, and how many LIs catch my eye. If those aren't there, I might look at reviews to see if it's worth checking out, because I do believe in hidden gems. Price is more of a factor when the game is short- if a game is too short I might not be willing to pay full price, but if it goes on sale, or people say it's good, I might check it out.

I see, thank you for your comment!
What kind of settings do you like?

Thank you for your comment!
It sounds like you carefully evaluate things by checking reviews too.
If you don't mind, I'd also love to hear what kinds of settings you like!

Ah, I totally understand. Art style really is important. But in the end, if the story isn't interesting, it's hard to keep going.

That sounds great! Very easy to understand.

I see, love interests really are very important in games. When it comes to LIs, what tends to catch your attention the most? Their appearance? Their voice? Or their personality?
It seems like everyone really checks reviews carefully. I should learn from that!
Short games are easy to pick up and play, but they can end up feeling a bit unsatisfying, so it's hard to justify spending too much money on them.

Ohhh, personally, I love fantasy, mystery, historical and mythological settings. I especially love it if the LIs or MC are yokai/monster, deities, or have special powers =)) I also enjoy slice of life if it has a touch of the supernatural, but basically, I prefer otherworld settings. (❁´◡`❁)

Oh, I see! So you like more fantastical and unrealistic settings.
I like isekai settings too! They can feel a little hard to get into at first, but once I get hooked, I end up loving them a lot.

If I really believe the game will have good quality (writing, character setting, especially heroine), I will buy it. But seldom this case. Usually the time that I can read other reviews, means I do not need to buy it by myself right? But recently, I met an exception, called Key la box. I read from its official website, the writing is not bad, and all LI is my cup of tea, the setting will lead to some interesting drama between heroine and LI, I think I can give it a try.

Another exception is that the otome game has other playable function apart from just reading words, like tokimeki memorial girl side, I think I can take yearssssssssssss to complete all the route and collect all the elements. In this case, I think it wil be totally worth of my money.

Usually it's the character designs that first catches my attention. If I'm not attracted to the character designs, or the art in general I am more likely to skip it. Because I play these games for romance with these LIs, so if I am not attracted to them what is the point? I am not super picky when it comes to art though, as long as it is more anime-styled. More western-like art simply does not appeal to me.

I usually play with the sound off, so voice and voice actors don't sway my opinions at all. As well, I don't tend to read spoiler-y reviews, so I almost never know what the personality of LIs is going to be before I play the games. Sometimes I go into games thinking an LI is ugly, and I am not super interested in their route, but then I play the common route and see their personality, and I have more interest in them. For example, upon first glance I did not care for Takeru from Collar x Malice due to his design, but I like tsunderes and ended up really enjoying his route.

I know a good art doesnt mean a good CD but I don't know why my head directly skip the ones with """"""bad""""" art ( just not my type ) but i mostly look up for the seiyuus since im a big seiyuu fan and can buy anything if one of my fave seiyuus r in it xDD also if it's in sales ill probably buy it after checking if the product interests me !

It comes down to the story and how it ends. Also, the payment method, because sometimes my preferred way to pay isn't supported.

Art style and VA don't really matter to me. If the plot or the ending sucks, I'm not buying. That's why I usually look for spoilers first...

The most important deciding factors for me when considering whether to buy a game are the setting, plot, and price. An art style can help pique my interest to a game, but if the story isn't good, it's hard to stay invested

For me the most deciding factor is price and if i think it's worth it
I'm from a developing country with low currency power so i need to manage my money wisely

If i only like one character out of all the cast in the game and i'm soso with the story premise, i don't buy
If i like the story and most of the cast, i buy even when i've pirated the game before

I do have my personal policy as well, in which i'll buy all BLVN released that have Top MC since it's so rare

Supported platform also contribute to if i buy the game or not, i exclusively buy games that is available for desktop

As for DramaCD, i only buy the one that have english translation

I think when a rare trope i really like is made it motivates me to purchase a game. Also if I can't find them anywhere else lmao

I usually only buy drama CDs when they're on sale. So for me, the first thing is the price. Another thing is the voice actor — oh my gosh, if it's a seiyuu I really like, I might not be able to help myself and end up buying it early, even if it's not at the biggest discount.

As for games, the first thing I look at is the art style. If the art doesn't catch my interest, I probably won't buy it. The story matters a lot too — if the plot is great or really creative, I'll happily pay for it.

Art style is incredibly important to me. I probably won't buy a game if I don't like the way it looks.
Sometimes I feel really bad because of this because I rarely pick up Western otome :( I just don't like their styles most of the time.

For otome games, the character types and storyline. (o˘◡˘o)

I can play many games with no spoken word or "terrible" art, but if the storyline is fun and interesting, I am willing to try and buy.

The same thing goes with character design. The art, yes, but more importantly, the backstory and characteristics of the love interests lead to me buying something more than anything (save for price).

For otome games, if I feel like I would really like the plot and LI based on the info released, I would usually pre-order the game. Otherwise, I wait for a a sale. For otome CDs, I look at the synopsis and VA before I determine whether or not to pre-order it.
