The purpose of creating this threads, is that I think these character songs with great quality is worthy for people to know and listen to. No matter you guys knows already or do not know, happy to see if you will leave any comment
I am a music lover since I was a child (even now, I can listen to songs non stop for ten hours). The reason that I got into otome game is becuase of kiniro no corda, and the reason I interested in it are those character songs. I remembered when I first listened to Tsukumori's「Aqua Blue」, really blown my mind. This song really changes my thought towards Tsukumori ( I did not know he has such gentle side).
I did not expect seiyuu can use the character voice to sing so well, and also the violin blend so well with melody, the arrangment is so fantanstic, and such quality ran though all the character songs, using different instrument that played by characters (for matching their character setting, even adding less common instrument like Trombone and Clarinet in the song), and the lyrics, match with the character totally (some of them even put some foreign language that the character used - Arata's 「BOM DIA!」「TE AMO! TE AMO!」,my favourite character - Myoga's 「疾風怒濤 -MEIN HERZ」.
Recently I have listened back to all those character songs in my mp3 folder as I bought a new headphone with aptx lossless (in the early past, I have to download them one by one in order to listen songs, but since years ago, I listen songs via Spotify so seldom listen to mp3 now), and I have some new discovery. Those character songs, no matter Kiniro no corda or Harukanaru toki no naka de, have a rock root in their character songs (more obivious in Corda 3, but in Corda 2 also have example: listen to Yunoki's 「Princess Jewel」「To be continued...」the middle part of 「Sweet Secret」Hihara's 「PRECIOUS」Tsukumori's 「LIGHT OF MY EYES」). At that time when I was young, I really did not realize that, I just thought they are great to listen to. But now I listened to that, the rock element in some songs to a extend that really surprised me (people said, what you listened in teenager will define what you love to listen in adulthood, it is the truth XD).
(Escpecially for Kiniro no corda or Harukanaru toki no naka de, they hold a lot of live event for seiyuu to sing their character songs in front of fans even now. The company even pay for professional to play full band (have electiric guitar and of course string/brass part) for live event, needless to say it takes seiyuu's effort/abllity to sing with live band as well. Koei company really put a lot of work on every aspects, not only game itself, because they knows how to create a full experience for fans, which I really really appreciate)
Back to the topic XD, what I like in kiniro no corda is it blends classical music and rock so well. Recently I listened to Tsuchiura's「Another Revolution」,it blends with a piece with Chopin. Myoga's 「絶望の挽歌」 and 「Dual Voltage」from Jinnan also adapted some classical music piece. I am really surprised some of the songs is definitely hard rock - if listened to「Crazy Craze Crazy」XDD. They do it smartly to blend them without any feeling out of place.
For Haruka series, there is another thing that surprises me. The instrument/sound choosing definitely taken into account of which era are in. I don't know much in 1 & 2, but when comparing to 3 towards 6, will feel the difference. I love the rock vibe of 3 & 5 while having those called ancient(chinese?japanese?) style/sound, probably match with the turmoil feel and determination in character in Genpei War and Bakumatsu. But generally speaking, in 5 have a speedy/stronger vibe that 3 did not have (in 3 and sometimes 4, guitar as main dish suddenly appear in some parts is very usual, while in 5, the whole song is quite rock XD, but depends on character, japanese instrument is main dish), which is more modern and being pushed to change that kind of vibe. As for 4, the vibe is quite slow and dreamy (either add in electric/synth type of sound as base and simplify the arrangement), probably match with the times that based on myth. For 6, they add in electric type of sound, but can recognize they are those typical taisho era sound that people can think of (Accordion sound, or more foreign/western arrangment, but different with 5 which just a beginning of Westernization)
Here is some example that I like :

For Haruka 7, I did not start as in haruka 6 I seems already sense kind of downfall? and I have no interest in that specific era? I cannot find someone I sincerely like (maybe some of the reason is that I grew older hahaha) But I am playing on Ryugu no Miko - the latest game on mobille, the writing and the characters seems nice, quite looking forward to their character songs if have.
