I also saw her explanation, but personally, I choose not to forgive her. Because it's true that she participated in writing the script for grmn, she even reposted that work at the time. And she didn't come forward to explain herself right when the controversy first started, Instead, she waited several days before saying anything. It really feels like she only came forward to explain because she realized there was no more money to be made, That's why I choose not to forgive her.

its even worse if the "mute" button doesnt work! my friend was reading an r18 otome, and even though she turned off mcs voice right at the beginning, she could still hear her moanings during h scenes?? why the hell?????
at this point i would rather play an unvoiced game..

a month later and i still ask myself the same questions lol

though again, i cant judge too much, because as far as im concerned japanese people have very different standards for their joseimuke. ive seen women ask for more male artists in joseimuke media, with some even asking for the same level of eroticism as danseimuke......... (dies)

this is another point, and please dont shoot me for this (or feel free to, since this is the entire point of the thread), but i see no reason to hire men to produce otome. like, soundtrack and coding are okay, but scenario or art? big no for me. we already have examples with aforementioned fmr or flml, but there are (were, since they stopped producing otome games thank god) also succulent titles, which somehow combine both voiced heroines AND male artists. why. why. why is this accepted. why

unlike otome and bishoujoge, bl games arent made for selfinsert, which is why the mc is allowed to be his own character with his own voice. mcs in bishoujoge are usually not voiced for men to easily project themselves onto the protagonist, and otome games heavily encourage selfinserting as well, which is why most sfw games dont have voice acting. which is exactly why i have no idea who thought it would be appropriate to voice mcs in r18 otome. its the exact same issue as big boobs in joseimuke hentai but kinda worse in a way im afraid, because at least manga characters are not voiced LOLOL

two most famous examples of all-ages otome with voiced heroines are bustafellows and jack jeanne, but coincidentally both have never advertised themselves as otome games LMAO at least at the beginning
also bustafellows' artist, sumeragi kohaku, primarily draws for danseimuke nukige, and apparently theres at least one mc in swimsuit cg so its pretty obvious they were trying to bait males into playing the game too. and jack jeanne is produced by broccoli, which are very well known for screwing over their otome fanbase WWWW so yea. nah

I couldn't find a way to block voice actors either, so I just have to rely on my memory and take notes in a text file. Besides circles, you can also block categories, I've already blocked every category that includes BL.

to be fair im not exactly sure how bara games (gay games aimed at men) operate, because ive only read two so far, and they were from the same creator and both were unvoiced so WWWW, but wouldnt surprise me if there was a big amount of voiced mcs in them as well, because. just like fujoshi love listening to men moaning in yaoi games, its likely that gay men also would like to hear some male moaning in their games? im not a gay man though so i cant say for sure..;;
but yeah the problem(?) is that otome itself is niche, and r18 otome is a niche within a niche, which kinda hurts if you are picky (whether you search for a certain voice actor or if you are weak to certain genres. or voiced heroines HAHAHAH)
i totally get your frustration with anime adaptations for otome!! although i cant find it in me to genuinely hate any mc, and it kinda stings when i see people call heroines pathetic or annoying or whatnot just because they watched a bad anime adaptation..;-; but yeah at least on the english side on the internet i can totally see why people wouldnt like a blank state mc (even though there are not that many of them in otome) or a meek mc. but otome games are way more accessible nowadays at least if you know how to pirate so i hope everyone can find stuff they are interested in.....!

I don't know exactly what otome game players think of fight scenes, but I personally find them quite boring most of the time. And I say this even though Hakuoki and Ken Ga Kimi are in my Top 10 otome games

Like, I didn't have this problem with Birushana, because it's the MC who's fighting against the romantic interests most of the time, right? And that's interesting.

But now, a romantic interest fighting against random characters/monsters? I don't feel like reading the dialogue of these fights unless it's a later, "important" fight.

I can't take it seriously—I'd much prefer a CG or narration alone telling me there was a battle. Otherwise I'm just standing there as the MC while a series of sword or gunshot sounds plays.

This is so true I can't take it when I'm skipping these battle scenes and the characters are indeed jumping like crazy on the screen.

I don't like how some MCs meet the LIs or get into the big positions they're in now because of how "special" or high up in the social hierarchy they're in. Makes it feel like if the MC was just a regular woman, they LIs wouldn't really have looked or bothered with her, or that their love is conditional.
