Do you prefer playing 3D otome games or 2D ones?

With the popularity games of LADS, many players enjoy it because of its realistic scenes and detailed visuals, which make them feel more closer to their love interests. Because of this trend, some developers may have started creating more 3D otome games (Like Silent Whisper) to follow their market demand.

But personally, I feel more comfortable playing 2D otome games because the art style often looks more expressive 💕 and authentic ✨, especially with the detailed character designs of the protagonist and male leads. And i feel awkward to play 3D because of how they have more animation and really move alot from my screen🧍.

same here, i also prefer 2d otome games! i think i share a similar view with you; i personally think 3d otome games make the characters looking too 'realistic' (?). for me, 2d otome games' characters look way more attractive since they're /clearly/ fictional. the dimension gap between the player (me) & the characters is what makes me enjoy playing otome game ^u^ however i also understand the hype of 3d otome games. i can see the charm that pulls people to play those games and become invested in it :D

I don't know if it's just me, but it feels like LADs rarely show anything exept faces. Guys get too close to screen and MC constantly touching them makes me uncomfortable. They have beautiful aesthetics, why show only 10% of it? At least in 2D there is more to look at

im only interested in 3d if its animefied, which lads is not. and even then, i like 2d way more!! i feel like drawn illustrations are way more versatile and expressive, just like you said. and having your favourite artists and watching them grow throughout their careers is so fun too!!

i just dont get the obsession with 3d in general. every time a new hasubando gacha/otome game is announced, there are people who immediately cast it aside for being 2d slop. at the same time, they genuinely believe that 3d = high quality. i remember when that hypmic gacha with 3d graphics shut down, i saw a comment that said something along the lines of "ugh now the devs are gonna think we want shitty low effort 2d slop instead of QUALITY" and it pissed me off soooo much WWW. people should read more..

Same… like i wanna see more beautiful and detailed art of the protagonist and male leads, not just touchy scenes that barely even show any proper details 🤷

Wow, didn't expect there is people actually dislike 2D models. But it's interesting because most people who prefer 2D seem to be those who have enjoyed anime/art-style content for a long time, while many 3D fans are newer players who weren't really into the otome game community before (or maybe just my speculation 🤔).

Like my sister and one of my friends. They never really played otome games before, but somehow they ended up playing LADS way longer than me 😕.

Although i play love and deepspace, at first it was really uncomfortable and unusual with it's 3D (though that was exactly what piqued my interest in this game lol it really stood out among others games because of this back in the release days) Now i get used to it and don't mind 3D, but my heart still lies with 2Ds and their different beautiful artstyles!!

I prefer 2D. 3D is not appealing to me because they kinda realistic, and their faces also looks the same to me.....
So true. It make me sad how lads community turns out to be so bad like how they just booing to the new game 3d otome games because similarities of the characters 😵‍💫. Like how they called Alarik just slop Sylus or something and etc... But yeah, its still kinda annoying how the other dev try to make Sylus variant into their game 🫠, and here i am not really find Sylus actually appealing character and maybe my least favourite character.

I'm not really into 3D games — like Love and Deepspace for example. No offense to anyone who enjoys it, but it's just not for me. It makes me think of real-life guys, and the graphics are so realistic that they actually make me uncomfortable. The interactions with the male leads kind of feel like a gender-flipped version of the male gaze... I just can't really get into it.

I much prefer 2D or Live2D art. That way I can just appreciate the art style as it is, and fully immerse myself in the world of 2D otome games.

The 3D mode is too dizzying; waiting for the technology to improve. Furthermore— the modeling, storyline, and voice acting are all crucial element, and hope the narrative offers something fresh and original within the 3D mode as well.
