What's your very first Otome game?

I thought the first game was Starry Sky in Spring. But judging by the release date, it must have been something earlier. While browsing this thread, I remembered Yo-Jin-Bo: The Bodyguards. I never actually finished that game, but the memories remain :)

Shall we date Lost Alice probably. i don't remember the plot much but i remember the outfits pretty clearly lol they were super pretty. i liked Frederick Grey, he was moe to me

God, it's such a long time ago that I don't remember anymore... But I remember vaguely stumbling upon TMGS' concept arts/animated opening (the PlayStation one) online and I was still learning Japanese so I thought it'd be good for me to play Japanese games (heck, I was already asking my mom to buy me games from Japan on her business trips).

So I got into Duel Love and TMGS...

Did I understand the games at all? Not necessarily, but I definitely know what "好き" meant from the delivery XD

If we're considering mobile games, my first was Wannabe Challenge, followed by Mystic Messenger!!
If its about PC/console ones, it was Amnesia Memories :DD

i was 13 when i first got in contact with mobile otome game, i think...? i was a curious child lol, i played a lot of games & watched a lot of anime i came across (including the one that genres i hate now). if anyone remembers okko, arithmetic, shall we date, cybird (around 2014-ish i think). i think cybird is the only one that still exist rn

also its also around that time i discover emulation for the first time in my life. at the time i was soooo obsessed with sakurai takahiro, he used have a role in this game called otometeki koi kakumei love revo (psp version though), which at the time he already rarely does any otome stuff, be it otome situation cd/otome game. somehow i could get my hand on love revo nds version with english patch fan translation, sadly it's not voiced, but im curious about the character he got to voice, so i played it. turns out to be so much fun XD my first experience with otome game that had a stat raising element!! i also discover more nds/psp game like tmgs series, storm lover kai & the prince of tennis dating sim lol. thank you so much to everyone that involved in fan translation... i would never got to experience all of that if it werent for your hardwork :"D

also somehow i got into the mystic messenger fever too somewhere in between

after that i also got into otome game that released on pc too (i dont have any other game console at the time). downloaded a few fan translated game too like starry sky, dot kareshi. i remember amnesia memories got released on steam or something. i play it blindly without looking at spoiler, after i'm done with kent's route, i go for toma for 2nd playthrough & I GOT JUMPSCARED by the cage scene T__T my little me's first encounter with a yandere & i got really scared back then lol. its extra funny now that i'm into yanderes

then a year after that ozmafia english version also got released. but never got a chance to experience playing english release of otome game on psvita so i dont remember much (i think not a lot of games that got released too)

now that im older, i have the game console (switch) & moneyyyy now :D i also thankful that some titles got its english localization now. its used to be a lot more common for otome games to not get any localization for years & people had to rely on fan translation most of the time (or that one method thats using mtl & ocr apps or something, i forgot lol its been so long since i used one). otome space is still niche though, i hope more people would get into otome game (the console one) bcs theyre missing out big time!! ><

The paid version of Ninja Love. I can't imagine it was as good as I thought it was when I played it and I remember being upset that the free version continued to get updates and story lines through micro transactions while the paid version never got updated.

I'm always interested on this: What's your very first Otome game? How did you first stumble into the fandom? Did you stumble upon it yourself or from someone? Is it the story, the character, the graphic, the BGM, the voice (aka the seiyuu) or all of the above perhaps?
-------
In my case, I was not into the otome fandom at first. Sure TMGS was my first ever otome game I have on NDS but I was more of a RPG-type of gamer then ww I remember of trying TMGS purely because I was on a break from trying to fully complete the RPG game (I can't remember what it was now w) I was playing then and found the premise refreshing. However it was D3P's Last Escort: Club Katze that made me to eventually own a PSP (one of the consoles to have for otome games). Plot-wise, it was decent, nothing exceptional but the graphic, the BGM (anything with jazz and I'm sold) and the voice (I put all blame on Suwabe Junichi) just did the job |D I believe from then on, I became more and more into otome game (and seiyuu and other complications w) and that's my uninteresting initiation into the fandom.

What about you all?
I don't know if it can be considered an otome since the playing style is a bit different (limited by day or money spent) but My Candy Love was my first otome ever, I'll never forget my two first loves Castiel and Lysander. Also years later Eldarya came and Valkyon became my love in that one… as for a Japanese visual novel for sure Amnesia Memories and Dandelion, those were the first two I bought.

Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side was my first otome game. I remember having to watch YouTube tutorials to install the patch jjjewel2010 had made and to learn how to use console emulators on my laptop. I liked it so much that I started playing mobile games, especially Voltage games and the Shall We Date? series.

OMG, we have the same taste! My favorites were also Castiel, Lysander, and Valkyon. By any chance are you still playing My Candy Love now that a new game came out?

Wand of Fortune. At that time I just passed N4 on japanese proficiency test and decided it was enough to read. It wasn't, and it took a lot of time and patience to beat even one route, but the game was very good and it immensly helped with studying

Come to think of it, that was my first time playing a mobile otome game. I played Neverland Syndrome; the story was quite profound, touching on concepts like the id, ego, and superego. Later, I played Tasokare Hotel by the same developer, which had more puzzle-solving elements and was eventually adapted into an anime.

I bought Hakuoki for the PSP and was instantly obsessed with it. Then I did Tokimeki after and solidified my love for the genre.

i cant really remember what i played first for otome, it couldve been some random otome game on mobile or mystic messenger, but for pc my first otome was nameless the one thing you must recall
kinda wild to see that that was my first one on pc, probably cus it was made by cheritz and i had already played mystic messenger

I am! The new game did not catch that much of my attention but I occasionally open the game to spend my points. The only game I stopped playing was Eldarya because yk, I'm a Valkyon lover 😭

My first game was Sh[in]e. It was the only one translated into my native language, and since I could only play it on PC because I didn't even know how to use emulators, I chose that one, and I don't regret it. When my MC opened her eyes, all she saw was a shirtless guy next to her in bed, and the next second her mom came in to scold us. XD

Hm, I don't remember exactly what my first otome was, but it was either Starry Sky ~ in Spring, Hakuouki or Sweet Fuse ^^

I think my first ever otome game that I had played was Amnesia and I'll always remember the first time that I had played Shin's route.

I also started with pacthesis games, because there wasn't a lot of otome games in english back in those days.

my first introduction to otome was Midnight Cinderella (I watched playthroughs on youtube) but the first game I actually played was Our 2 Bedroom Story by voltage inc.
