What's a game that everyone seems to love but you hate?

For me it's amnesia. I like Shin... But the story wasnt for me. Neither were the routes (including shin's haha)

Elden Ring - don't get me wrong I like the customizations parts of it but I tend to get bored of it easily unless I play it with friends then I am more likely to enjoy it

I recently tried out diabolik lovers after only really listening to the drama cds, and i was kinda really let down about how it's structured since i was expecting something that feels more traditional, the "routes" just being short snippets did not vibe with me sadly

Ozmafia, honestly, I hated this game with all my heart. I've never encountered a protagonist as bad as Fuka (she was so passive, never questioned anything, not very intelligent, and let herself be deceived, manipulated, or insulted by everyone). I could excuse her because she has amnesia, but the heroine of Amnesia has that condition, and even so, she's a neutral or sometimes even likable female character in my opinion.
As for the routes, I have nothing to say; almost all of them were either very boring or very bad. The only ones I liked were Hameln
and the neutral ones Kyrie and Caesar (because of their backstory or relationship development).

Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~ for me... :') It's not that I hate it per se, but I keep trying to play it for like 10 times before I stop and give up. I love steampunk settings, the love interests, and how unique the MC is, but I couldn't really get into it that much. Maybe I'll try playing it again after all my other games haha.

Diabolic lovers and A Date with Death. I love art but dislike text. I like more blooming and error

Nightshade. I've seen alot of people who like Hanzo.I kind of like him too. but the age gap between him and the mc is reall uncomfortable i couldn't enjoy his route .

Olympia Soiree. I just kind of couldn't take the "she's so WHITE 👈🤯🤢" lines seriously I'm sorry, they were just funny. I also didn't like Olympia much as a character. What I wanted out of her character, I got in Aprose from Mistonia's Hope.

Changeling and Gilded Shadows from Strawberry Studio.
I really didn't like the protagonist in Changeling. She was infuriatingly annoying.
And although it had a somewhat interesting plot, I couldn't get into it because the writing style was boring.
Gilded Shadows had way too many descriptions! It was hard to focus on the story because I kept looking at the dictionary every time a new term popped up!
And again, the writing style was a bit too tedious.

It's not exactly like that in the original Japanese script is it...? Smells like localizers' foul work again!

Even though Collar x Malice has received rave reviews, I've dropped it twice after starting. It just felt a bit boring to me. I think the massive amount of spoilers online ruined the suspense and tension, which really took away from the fun of playing.

Diabolical lovers, there's a anime for this so it must be popular somewhere. I despise every single character in that game including that mc.
In my opinion, this game has some parts that a lot of people just won't be okay with. What's weird is that a lot of people recommending it never seem to mention that.

Hate is a strong word, but Jack Jeanne... I was mostly dissapointed, cause people were calling it a masterpiece and I didn't like it, haha... But, i guess, in the end it was my problem for having high expectations ^_^"

Diabolic Lovers - I'm not a masochist enough to enjoy it
Amnesia - MC with no eyes or personality is one thing, but here MC does not exist at all. I thought many people prefered MC having personality, so it's really strange why is it so popular

I totally get what you mean 😅 You're definitely not alone.
For me it was Birushana. I rlly wanted to love it, especially because I absolutely adored the protagonist but I ended up finding it kind of tedious to get through. I can see why people love it, and I don't think it's a bad game at all, it just didn't really click with me personally

Too many.
All chat-sims other than Emberfate (e.g. A Date with Death, ERROR143, etc), most villainous MC plots I've seen as otome weren't very great (compared to some anime).
Piofiore. I didn't like the starter route (Nicola) to the point I'm not sure if I'd like the others (Orlok intrigued me, though), meh writing, plus super naive/sheltered and passive MC. Also, I'm not into plots involving the mafia, or non-con/SA themes. I do enjoy dark, psychological, angst and despair in my stories, but this wasn't it.
Jack Jeanne. I hate the art, the plot, forced rhythm game sections, and everything about this. I wish I liked it because many seem to love it. I only could manage to read the entirety of Orimaki Suzu's route, and I wish I ignored the recommended play order and just read the guy who intrigued me the most (Neji Kokuto)... even despite semi-liking one character, I'm not tempted to go back to it.
Cupid Parasite. Just... no. I like comedy (I often watch rom-com kdrama), but it was way too silly at times for my taste. I only sorta liked Shelby Snail... Unfortunately, I thought this had really weak writing and was all over the place to the point of sloppy.
Taisho x Alice; I hate the localization.
Cinderella Phenomenon. I just couldn't get into it at all; I just read Rod's route and that was it. I was slightly intrigued by Waltz, but not enough to want to finish more routes to unlock his route.
Radiant Tale; I was only there for the art, lol... the story is boring and lackluster, unfortunately.
London Detective Mysteria, The Men of Yoshiwara: Ohgiya, Tailor Tales, Red Embrace: Hollywood, Love Spell: Written In the Stars, Sigh of the Abyss, everything by Steamberry/Lunaris/Nochi Studios/Everium/prikarin/chattercap/synokoria/chimériquement/robobarbie/husbandogoddess/flowersforjoy/lunamakaio/marysue/Sonya X, Gods of Love, Saint Ceri, Freak-Quency, Heroine for Hire (I like most of everything by Jellyfish Parade but not this), Glass Heart, Degraman, Seduce Me, Akash: Path of the Five, Blood Code, Prank Masters, Pyrite Heart, Cute Demon Crashers, Trapped with Jester, Particles of Reality, and many others...
I unfortunately couldn't get into: Kokorogawari, Reimei no Gakuen, anything by batensan, Evernight, A Pinch of Magic, The Dream Alchemist, Seven Kingdoms: The Princess Problem, Nusantara: Legend of the Winged Ones (love the new one with the same setting by this creator, though!), A Foretold Affair.
I wouldn't say I hate these ones, but I don't think they're worth the read even for my favourite MLIs: Code Realize, even if TEMPEST, Collar x Malice, Olympia Soiree, BUSTAFELLOWS, Norn9, 7'Scarlet.

Omg, same. That game is awful, all over the place, mc boring, and the love interests are mostly red flags and not even interesting ones hahaha

I recently bought The rose of segunda and I feel bad that I completely hated it because it's an Indie Game and all and apparently there's not a single soul out there who hates it (from the reviews I've seen at least 😅). So I was wondering if you guys have had similar experiences with popular games or if I am just a hater.
Played both Rose of Segunda and its sequel (Thorns of War). Huge gap in real-life years between the games and it definitely shows (the writing in the 2nd way more polished, characterisation is less flat and even the plot is far more heavy). TROS was like a 4/10 for me, so you're not alone. I suspect people are a lot more reluctant to openly criticise indie games (I know I am).

Not sure how popular it is but I'm not a fan of Steam Prison...I felt no chemistry between Cyrus and ANY of the LIs. I'm usually fine with angsty games and social commentary but the setting was a bit...too bleak and dystopic for me?

I am adding to the list of people who were disappointed by Diabolik Lovers ahaha. I didn't expect to find so many like-minded people in this thread considering how much people love the game. I actually liked the anime.
