Have you ever wanted to play a vn so badly, but the ui was so broken or outdated that made you instantly drop the game??

Actually, I quite like games with outdated UI (even non-otome games), they give off a nostalgic vibe even if you weren't around when the game came out. It's like you've gone back in time and everything is deserted.

This actually happened to me when I first started Ephemeral, not only was the UI quite bugged when I played for the first time but the translation is quite messy, there's a lot of typos but I love the visuals so I stayed strong and finished the game after a few months
 
Not really, unless the UI is so broken that the game is unplayable. Though I'll still try to play it lol
I actually enjoy old games, even ones with weird and outdated UIs! I've played many older games with convoluted menus, like console dating sims, or even old PC games with scaling and font issues haha

I've gone so far as to learn how to play VNs in PC98 emulators and the like :)

I don't mind old UIs but a broken one is where I draw the line lol

How am I supposed to enjoy a story if the "next" button is gonna repeatedly skip shit over????? T_T

THIS! Of course if the game cannot be played because it doesn't run properly on modern systems then it's different. Otherwise I actually prefer the old look to the new, more polished one VNs have nowadays.

Absolutely seconding this. There's so much personality to older UIs compared to newer ones who are just clean buttons and squares!
