When I tried to use the llm and luna translator together the server did not load either of the sugoi models (tried to use the bigger one first then deleted it so it's not there) ... Was there a common config which could fix this that I didn't figure out to set up? What does the qwen2 mean?

sugoi is a slower model
vntl is depenable and faster
and yes its free

also im curious, if you want to fix names so they could be translated consistently, do you have to type them additionally with the prompt that is provided in the original post? because i cant find the "dictionary" that is mentioned.. sorry;;

Nope. You can easily manage them, I'll update it a bit later with how.

But essentially all you need to do is in Luna, adjust game management details.

Auto importing names guide:

1. turn on game management on toolbar.

2.On game management screen, create folders if you wish for organization, as you can see, I have PC and SWITCH so far.
3. Rightclick a folder title and click 'ADD A GAME'. it will ask for a file, you can select anything (if its a pc game, just select the exe), I recommend getting a PICTURE of the game you want.

4. Swap to settings tab after the image is imported and change the .exe to the emulator.
5. Change the title of the game to the NAME OF THE GAME as per its name on VNDB and click the magnifying glass

6. check 'GAME DATA' and see if VNDB has filled in, if it has, great!

7. Close and re-open game management.
8. Move to the tab shown beneath. and copy these settings.

Enjoy.

launch the game through game management each time and you are done.

Have you tried the guide with GSM for learning? It allows you to extract lines and audio from the game itself to learn vocab.

I used to mine vocab years ago but sadly it never worked for me, I'm just too lazy to do Anki or similar cards

I think GSM can work a little on steam deck but i'm not entirely sure.
