I really like Washio Tobi sensei's work, really, i read all her works and its just amazing!
It has a perfect combination of humor, comedy and romance XD
And not forget to mention, the R18 scenes.

But the most important point is that, THE THEME SHE DRAWS IS JUST WHAT I LIKEEEE
Best friend, bros... idkkk hahah

Oh man, this is such a hard question ! I have lots of BL mangaka that I love but I think I'll have to go with Harada. I love everything about her works! They have interesting chacaters and she loves giving her characters a lot of depth and lots of issues, which I personally appreciate lol
I also like Yamashita Tomoko a lot (though she does more Josei and less bl nowdays) and Scarlet Beriko. I know you were just asking for one but I couldn't help myself 😅
I don't think I've ever read anything by Washio Tobi yet so I'll check her out :sneaky:

And from Scarlet Beriko, i just searched and realize i have read one of her works:

Yondaime ôyamato tatsuyuki

Maybe i will re-read again x)

I also have a lot of BL mangakas that i like, but the only mangaka where i have read all her works and always follow for her new releases is Washio Tobi sensei, idk hahaha

If you dont mind bittersweet shounen ai stories, i recommend you read this one!!

Definitely! I love Nii-chan!! Reading it was a very unique experience and I really love the way Harada managed to tackle such complex and difficult subjects and truly explored them.
Color Recipe was another one that I couldn't stop thinking about after finishing it.

Dude! Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki was my first Scarlet Beriko BL (I have the paperback version lol) and it was so fun!! made me her fan instantly lol In think I need to re-ead it too :sneaky:
I actually already started reading bros btw! So far so fun lol!

Ohh thank you for the rec! I'm not that good with bittersweet endings (or tragic endings for that matter) but I'll read it! I do like melancholic vibes...

Any other specific BL mangaka or Bl manga you loved? Something that really stuck with you over the years?

I really enjoy Washio Tobi as well! My favorite of hers is probably Kasenjiki RomeJuli Kousoukyoku, likely because I love delinquent BL haha (but bros. is in the top of my list as well)

I'd say my favorite BL mangaka are Harada and Shikke, I love both their themes and art style! I even have physical copies of their manga lol (my favorite Harada work is Yoru to Asa no Uta, which I bought immediately when they announced it in my country). Guess I like my BL a little on the psychological side :)

Talking about stuck over years... DEFINITIVELY Twittering Birds Never Fly from KOU YONEDA sensei...

I CANTTT, I JUST... DAMMMNNN i want to scream.
This manga... is very old.. since 2011.. and it is still ongoing...
The mangaka focused too much on the plot (yakuza and so on) that there was no progress in the relationship between Yashiro and Doumeki (the main characters that you see in the cover). Furthermore, everytime a new chapter is released, i already forgot the previous content...
I just want to see them happy T^T

A movie was released in 2020 and is available in Netflix!!
If you are interested maybe you can watch it.
But the manga... idk HAHHA

SOOO COOOOL to have physical copies!!!
I've noticed a lot of people like Harada's work~~
I like BL mangas related with psychological too!
There is one still ongoing called: Kyoudai Shikkaku from Ringo no Mi
From the webpage that im reading it, they categorized it to Drama/Psychological/Yaoi

The synopsis is as follows:
One night, Yahiro (17) accidentally watches a video of his 21-year-old brother appearing in gay porn and spends a sleepless night in shock.
When morning comes, his brother is there as usual, making breakfast and preparing his lunch.
Unable to meet his brother's eyes out of embarrassment and confusion, Yahiro begins a painful struggle with his feelings.

NOTE: I dont dislike to read ''incest'' related mangas, because of the instant tension and emotional complexity about forbidden romance. Let me know if you have any psychological BL mangas recommendations!

Ohhh I know Yoneda's works!! I really loved Doushitemo Furetakunai (even got the paperback when it was announced back at the time). I was also suuuuper excited for Twittering Birds when she started it but I wanted to wait a little longer to have more chapters to start with and then something happened (I guess) and several of her works went of hiatus or she dropped them.
That really scared me and I decided to wait first to see if she finishes Twittering Birds. So yeah....it's still on my to-read list to this day!! I'm happy to know it's still ongoing though, which means she hasn't dropped it!
I'm one hundred percent sure I'll love Twittering Birds but I just don't want to wait decades to finish a series  (Sekaiichi Hatsukoi is still ongoing after like a decade and I'm still reading it lol). I can totally feel you about completely forgetting the previous chapters bc of the slow serialization...it's annoying.

I kinda feel the same way about Acid Town (another one that has been ongoing since 2008). I looove Kyuugou and I was so obsessed with Acid Town but she constantly put it on hiatus and it's so frustrating! Anyway, I decided to stop reading it and wait till she finishes it loool (might never happen though, who knows)

Btw. Can you tell me if the Twittering Birds movie has an open ending or does it have some type of conclusion?

Haha, I've been collecting since my teens! Wayy too early to be buying those, but oh well. I even imported some from the US when I couldn't find it where I live! I have around 40 volumes nowadays, mostly single volume releases :)

That seems right up my alley! I will add it to my list as well. Yeah, stories about incest can deal with heavy themes in very interesting ways, such as codependency.

I do have some psychological recommendations as well! Here they go:
Gesshoku Kitan
Deichuu no Hasu
Ore no Kimochi ga Wakaru ka
60-okubun no Futari

As far as i remember it was an opening ending, since the manga was still ongoing.
Sekaiichi Hatsukoi mentioned!!! i still remember the year when they released the anime HAHAHAH
I think nobody thought it was a BL anime in that time XDDDDD
(In my case, I was one of them) when i see the title i tho it was a shoujo anime (romance as always) but then the first scene appeared two men standing in the library and i was eh? what's happening (it was too much for myself of that time HAHAHAH) and then i just dropped it.

But THEN, i meet Junjo Romantica, the first episode was too FUNNY and without noticing i ended all the season.
And... i think that was my first BL anime which got me to the BL world.
(i dont remember which was my first BL manga)

And the other work of the same author, Hybrid Child ... sigh, always make me cry...

Deichuu no Hasu i was surprised by the plot twist at the end lol

I love the Sekaiichi Hatsukoi anime, I've rewached it many times! I love Junjou Romantica too (it really had crazy fun humor) but I personally prefer Sekaiichi.
Must have been a shock for you if expected shoujo haha XDDD

It's really amazing that Junou had 3 Seasons and Sekaiichi 2 plus OVA (or something) bc BL anime in general are usually rare and it's even more rare for them to have more than 1 season. Shungiku Nakamura's works seem to be really popular!
I read Hybrid Child at some point but I don't remember much anymore, only that it was sad..

My first BL manga and anime was Gravitation 😅 I watched the anime and couldn't stop thinking about it so I got the manga too lol Since then I've been loyal to be BL genre haha

Nakamura's work definitively engaged a lot of new fujoushis hahaha
I also like Sekaiichi Hatsukoi , but personally i prefer Zen Kirishima x Yokozawa Takafumi CP (the adult pair)
About Sekaiichi Hatsukoi manga, i heard in X that the author's artstyle changed, becomes more softer and certain fans miss the old artstyle.

Yeah, I actually like all the pairings. Yokozawa x Kirishima's story is mostly in the novel I rhink. They barely get any manga pages :(

Oh, yes, thats right haha! Her style did change and technically it has gotten better (more detailed, cleaner, more modern) but it still retained it's uniqness imo. Having said that....I am one of those fans that misses the old style hahaha. I didn't really like her style at first but it grew on me over time and now I kinda miss it lol. But I'm also slowly gettting used to her new style 😅

Kou Yoneda has had my heart for so long... Mokumokuren if we're counting the little oneshots they've released.. But I'm sooooo bad at remembering names, I feel like there's so many where I'm like 'I would pay the Big Dollars to have a copy of this' and then I FORGET ABOUT THEM! I'll have to lurk this thread and read the ones people have rec'd!

Asumiko Nakamura is another one I just remembered akshsdfjhir

You know, usually me too, i dont remember the mangakas or the mangas names :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Most of the time i just use the browser´s bookmark to re-read the mangas that i like.
For example, Mokumokuren and Asumiko Nakamura, i didnt know who are them until i searched and realize i KNOW THEIR WORKS.
Asumiko Nakamuraa, i knew her work "Classmates" because of the movie, and i need to say, her artstyle is quite unique!

And Mokumokuren, THE SUMMER HIKARU DIED!!!! i´ve read the original manga first before the anime adaptation. I feel like the manga´s vibe is better than the anime, i dont know how to describe, much creepier?... I actually got goosebumps while reading it, and I'm really curious about how it would ends…
