I was cleaning up my phone's memory to free up space and I came across these photos from when I was getting the platinum trophy in FF X, and I immediately frowned. How difficult it was to complete the characters' Sphere Grids! It hurt physically (my fingers from having to farm so much, ugh!) and mentally (the farming, the endless farming that corrodes the mind... it tires and frustrates me to remember it even today (ノ`Д´)ノ彡┻━┻ I remember playing for hours and it was terribly hot at the time. So it was a mix of sleepiness and anger lol). I thought what would really drive me crazy would be the chocobo race, the one where you have to hit the balloons, but I don't think it was that difficult compared to having to farm each character's Sphere Grid...

This song haunts me since its remember the infinite farming in the Monster Arena for the Sphere Grid; if I go to hell, this will definitely be there to torture me(• ▽ •;)

Besides that, there are the VR Missions in Metal Gear Rising. Mission 18... that was torture, I almost had a heart attack!

Besides having to finish within a short time limit (4min and 30 sec) to get gold, any enemy attack was a one-hit kill. The mastiffs (the gorillas) were what annoyed me the most, along with the dogs, lol. And as if that wasn't enough, the game's parry function is ridiculous. Whose idea was it to allow parrying with an analog stick? ಠ_ʖಠ Not cool, I hope that person's pillow is eternally warm and that they never find a comfortable sleeping position, and that cats meow eternally on that person's roof! It took a whole week, but I remember there was no better feeling than when I finally managed to complete the mission. I finished Raiden's VR missions, but... I still have Sam's to do. I've been avoiding his for almost five years now, running from his missions like the devil runs from the cross (• ▽ •;)

Peak fantasy X spotted. Good taste~

Mhm, the most frustrating moment in gaming is hard to remember. Probably something to do with RNG, like a rare drop. I remember giving up on getting the Platinum Trophy for Valkyria Chronicles 4 after trying for hours to get a specific weapon drop from a long mission and failing.

Besides that, simply something like losing a lot of progress or needing to do something over and over again, like running up the ledge in Anor Londo in Dark Souls 1. On paper it's not hard, and I've done it many times before, but the clunkiness of DS1 and the pointless runbacks… yeah, I get frustrated easily by that.

Item drops are really frustrating, especially when it depends on luck. In FF X I even had to farm Ribbons to fight Penance and it ended up taking a long time :/ And don't even talk to me about Dark Souls, I'm never touching that one again after getting a nasty beating from Pontiff in 3 lol that's when I realized the Dark Souls franchise isn't for me, the most I've managed to play from FromSoftware is Bloodborne

Trying to to complete the Collectopaedia in Xenoblade, it was RNG hell for me 😭 I still love the game though!

The fact that you can't erase your memory and play your favorite game again. 😩
I've actually thought this a bunch! Or movies too! Like, if they could actually make a machine that could erase memories, you could watch your favourite movie for the first time again, or play your fave game again!

As for most frustrating for me, i guess any game where I die over and over and over on the same NPC or boss. The DS games come to mind. There was Rune Factory 1 that I played when I was young and didn't know about making weapons and whatnot so I kept dying to a boss trying to use my Hoe. I was dumb.

that one boss in FF15 where you have to fight that big ass tortoise which generally take about 45 mins, but my house decided to have the power shut down from thunderstrike before i almost beat it 8'D

The last four chapters of Bravely Default aren't that difficult, but I could die from boredom from the repetition lol

I would erase my mind and play Nier Automata then erase my mind and play Nier Automata and then erase my mind and-

PEAK MENTIONED

The day I found out about this game, they were already shutting down the servers the next day, and on top of that, it wasn't even compatible with my phone ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽ As a Nier fan, I suffer.

On Proud mode?? Brave and warrior-like you are, I already cry to him on hard mode lol I don't even dream of getting close to Proud mode XD Worse than him for me is only Yozora in III, I beat him by pure luck lol I know his lines by heart to this day from how many times he beat me up

yeah, that game was not well optimized at ALL. i hadnt upgraded my ipad at the time and the thing was already dying, booting up reinc was an experience lmao. it just sucks since yoko taro confirmed it to be nier 3 and outside of watching everything through youtube, we dont have access to it...

proud mode is honestly really not that bad once you get the gimmicks down! i went through the series again before 3's release. except for CoM, there is no saving the gameplay in that game for me.

also...YOUR POWER IS MINE

You mentioned Chains of Memories and I instantly remembered my younger brother who's a KH fanatic. That crazy guy platinumed all the games (he even forced me to platinum the rhythm one for him :/ but he'll pay for it because I don't work for free, he'll platinum 3 for me) and he goes crazy when you mention CoM since that one had a specific trophy that required collecting all the cards and one of them depended on luck. I was watching him that day and I only remember him cursing every second when he was trying to get his card and it never came. Or when he fought Axel in the last mode and Donald used Firaga on him and healed him hahaha I still crack up remembering that! While I laughed so hard watching him suffer in that game, he laughed years later when I was suffering in FF X – the world turns and Karma is real.

And don't be modest. In Pride mode I don't think the gimmicks make that much of a difference, in that one it's pure skill.

By the way.... "C'mon, keep to the beat! Ow!"

your brother is a MADMAN idk how anyone could willingly put themselves through that game to that extent 😭😭😭 maybe we gotta try the gba one, ive only played the final mix version. was it one of the heartless cards?

FFX was so much fun….until one remembers dodging thunderbolts. Lmao, 10/10 actually would play that again.
OH IVE JUST THOUGHT OF ONE FOR AUTOMATA TOO. i played through that on the hard mode that was just below the "everything is one shot" one, which meant boss stuff was a near one shot. on the last boss of route c where you constantly swap between a2 and 9s, i had sooooo much trouble because every fucking swap would happen and whoever it was would just be up there in melee while the boss was in shock mode and id instantly die LMAO. it was some bullllllllshit trying to game the companion gambit thing to try and make sure they were nowhere near it every time.

and lmaooooo NOT DARKNESS WITHIN DARKNESS….heres one a shoutout for your bro

I played the GBA version once (although I didn't finish it). Is there much difference between it and Re:Chains of Memories? As for whether the card was from Heartless or not, I wouldn't know, it's been so long since that happened XD I only remember my brother commenting that the card's drop chance was ridiculously low. Nomura was being mischievous when he did that lol
(Edit: i just asked him and he said "yeah that one, please don't ask me about that card again" lmao I guess he's still traumatized)

People talk a lot about the thunder and the chocobo race, I thought those were pretty easy! For me, the worst was the butterfly race (my TV was a CRT when I was playing on PS2, and when I played on PS4 the TV size didn't make much difference because the environment is dark and BLUE, and the butterflies were tiny AND BLUE, and as if that wasn't enough, I'm blind as a bat, so it was TORTURE ( ≧Д≦). And that chocobo race to open the chests. Wow, that was hell.

Oh I know that one u are talking about on Nier! I played on Hard mode, so that might be why, but I found the Koshi and Roshi battle pretty chill. In that part, it's easier to use Nines and hack; it does good damage and avoids being in the boss's range, which is what I did at least (☞゚∀゚)☞ Oh btw In Automata, I also remember a frustrating part. It's that fight with Hegel, that boss, that one We fight in the desert when we first controlled A2. I died a lot in that boss fight, but in my defense, that boss is totally unbalanced to play against A2, and you can't even use her Berserker mode since the boss wouldn't stop spamming those little balls and splitting up and shooting lasers recklessly across the field (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻ how am I supposed to use Berserker mode like that and don't die? The fight was basically Pod against Hegel lol. And when he hovered in the air I went crazy, he reminded me of the super annoying boss from Shadow of the Colossus who also flies around and you have to keep shooting arrows at his belly to make him drop his wings so you can climb up. I guess I'm just bad with bosses that move a lot lol. Oh, and I don't know if you did it, but there are also those coliseums. The rank 99 Forest coliseum was difficult, and the final boss drove me crazy, lol. I even wanted to fight the CEO, which is why I haven't sacrificed my save yet, but I can't get past the last coliseum in Flooded City, especially since I wanted to use Nines :( It's been three years already but I'm still stuck there. Soon it'll be joining the Hollow Knight coliseum, which I practically gave up on XD

Darkness within darkness is a classic! Got it memorized?
