Otome Recommendation megathread

My personal favorite is Dance with Devils! I don't see a lot of people talking about it, but I really like it haha. Also Piofiore and 9RIP. Loved those with my whole heart.

It depends on the vibe you want, really! I recommend Bustafellows for a more movie-style action esque otome, and Honey bee's rebirthday song or Olympia soiree for more fantasy themes. They're very memorable

My top fav are Olympia Soiree, Natsuzora no Monologue, Ayakashi Gohan.
Olympia Soiree is a fantasy story inspired by Japanese mythology. I personally love otome games like this that have a lot of world building. Although its not fully R18, there are plenty of steamy scenes that makes it close to R18.

Natsuzora no Monologue combines school slice of life, comedy, and science. Although non of the LIs particularly stand out appearance wise, their interactions are comedy gold! They made me laugh so hard, I just had so much fun playing this game. There were even some routes that made me cry too (especially the truth route!) Highly recommend to play this during the summer.

Ayakashi Gohan is a modern themed game with fantasy aspects. What's pretty special is that depending on the common route, the main heroine has different personalities! Playing this game made me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and I sobbed so hard in its final truth route!

If you don't mind something a bit heavy and emotional, I highly recommend Blackish House (both sideA and sideZ)! It is about a group of "troubled" celebrities living together, and the stories are honestly so well-written. It made me cry more than once... Definitely worth a play if you want characters with a lot of depth.

I recommend "Code Realize." This game features both an extensive shared storyline and unique stories for each character. It really felt like reading a novel.

This is a bit niche and its not necessarily a Japanese otome, but cardinal cross very much comes to mind! I have 21 hours on steam from this game apparently, it was a good game sci fi plot wise
Ooohh thank you so much! English only otome games are also very much welcomed!

In my original post I meant to say I wanted Japanese otome games that are not licensed in English preferably since I already know most of the ones with official english translations hahaha (but even then I was pleasantly surprised knowing that some that I only knew the titles of had these vibes too!)

Ahh my bad 😭 😭 I'm still on the JP otome journey so I can't add much but one game I wish I can play in Japanese is libra of nil admirari! Let me know if it's good if you play it - but it is unfortunately, not sci fi...

:forsaken:

最近没什么感兴趣的游戏,想看看大家推荐什么游戏?R18或者纯爱都行!

I haven't found any games that interest me lately. Could you guys recommend some? R18 or Pure love is OK!
L2 Love×Loop……这个古早乙女游戏的画师跟符文工房是同一位,游戏平台是PS2,游戏含有RPG,我觉得很有趣

L2 Love×Loop……This retro otome game shares the same illustrator as Rune Factory. It was released on the PS2, includes RPG elements, and I found it really interesting.

Looking for:
something to recommend my friends so they kind of stop suffering on greedy games that are trouble to play(like candy love) or indie games with 40 minutes of demo story just because they're accessible. Basically preferably just a good starter game, on pc. Something that feels, you know, high quality! I mostly play on switch so I don't really know much about the pc landscape for otomes

Obviously different people will like different genres, but maybe Our Life: Beginnings & Always? It's free and beginner friendly with optional DLC but the free version is a satisfying complete game.
Other paid (buy once and own it) otome games that are generally popular to a wide audience and on pc: Hakuoki, Amnesia, Bustafellows

You can browse steam or itch.io for many many more choices.

Hi! I'm looking for something new to play but I don't have anything specific in mind and nothing in my wishlist is looking appealing (sometimes it be like that). This is my vndb https://vndb.org/u39434

What I'm looking for:
- modern day setting or high fantasy (anything but Japanese historical setting tbh)
- an MC that isn't too childish/innocent
- something that isn't too sad, angsty or hardcore
* untranslated games are okay

My most recent game is Even if Tempest, so I'm looking for something different. My favourites include the Alice series, UtaPri, Amnesia, Piofiore, Collar x Malice, Code Realise, CupiPara

Hey Guys, getting a lot of duplicate or similar topics, this is a MEGATHREAD to ask for:

Homicipher could be good. It's shorter too!
Virche is notoriously sad as well hmm... There aren't as many games as graphic or tragic in that way but...

7scarlet could work?

seconding homicipher! it's not gory but i think psychedelica of the black butterfly is pretty mysterious and tragic as well.

btw i know this is the otome corner but if i can add a little extra non-otome rec, someone who liked virche would probably enjoy the house in fata morgana and vice versa... similar-ish artstyle, full of tragedy/deaths and a lot of twists along the way. i think a lot of people here read vns outside of otome so i felt like it was a worthwhile mention!

Hello! I'm here to (shamelessly) advertise KLAP!! ~Kind Love And Punish~. So it's a modern day setting where the heroine gets appointed as a teacher to youkai students who cannot control their powers. It's a whimsy rom-com with a loveable cast and it never takes itself seriously. It's got a gameplay mechanism where you "lecture" the students when their powers go out of control (; While the heroine isn't really childish/innocent, she's still teaseable.
Another game I recommend is Tlicolity Eyes, also low stakes and a modern day cute romance. While I only played volume 1, I feel like the next volumes will be just as engaging and fun. It also includes 3p endings(that's always a +1 in a game tbh) and the cast really likeable.

Thank you!! I vaguely heard about both but they were not on my radar, I'll check them out. They sound great

I'm looking for something in the style of Alpha/Omega, I'm okay with all kinds of genres so if the theme is heavy it's still okay for me. Kimi ni Madoi, Kimi ni Oboreru is still a long way from being released, I wanted something of that genre to fill the gap until it's released. Don't worry about the language, so even if it's not in English it's still great for me.

i'm looking for otome games for beginners, i've already played amnesia and i'm starting taisho x alice

i guess it depends on what you mean by "beginner"…? like something shorter length wise? no gameplay? no darker tropes or storylines?

Sadly most games in this genre if there are any, are BL, are you okay with that?

Looking for: PSP and PSVita games in either japanese or english

Games I enjoyed: I could list them but any game with men with long hair, Hirakawa Daisuke voicing a complicated character (I'm a DiaLovers fan), fantasy/magic/historical settings, and easy stat/kingdom management games

Things I dont like: overly innocent/puritan/dumb MCs, contemporary settings (exception being Tokimemo and Storm Lover), and games that don't have any of my fav voice actors (in order: Hirakawa Daisuke, Ono Yuuki, Okitsu Kazuyuki, Tachibana Shinnosuke, Ishida Akira, Morikawa Toshiyuki, Kondou Takashi, KENN)

Thank you!
