Now that I'm replaying Diabolik Lovers, I remembered that there were two characters I ended up developing a certain dislike for, to the point of not completing their routes. The first was Reiji; I thought he was a real jerk when he was a child with Shuu, and to rub salt in the wound, my first ending with Shuu was that sword fight with Reiji. I was so upset that I decided never to do his route, but I think after seven years I'm ready to forgive him, haha. Now, another one I detest and will never give a chance to, and will stay far away from his route, is Ruki Mukami. I simply hate this guy. At first, I didn't care about him, but when I went to do his route and got to a part where he kills a kitten, I got so angry that I immediately left his route and switched to Kou.

I didn't drop the route, but Laito and Reiji in HDB made me so mad I kinda stalled on the game for months haha
To make things worse, I played their routes back to back (and regretted it immediately)

Honestly the fact that you're playing Diabolik Lovers again is a true test of strength alone :swearveng: I gave up when Kanato kept choking the MC every 5 minutes it was about to turn into a homicide case real quick

Give Kanato a chance, his ending is amazing (at least I liked it when I first played his route) and he matures a bit in More Blood :)

Good luck with Ruki. I'm going to pretend he doesn't even exist when I replay More Blood, lol
 
I bizarrely rarely drop character routes even if I dislike them, which I also think is a flaw of mine that made me play Jack Jeanne on all routes for the same reason—it's stronger than me; I don't have the strength to drop a game after I start. But I rarely completely dislike a character; the most recent one I experienced was Heart Cage with Luke. I've never wanted to beat someone up as much as I did with him.

I tried to go through Arashi Fujiyama's route once but oh my god I can't stand his denseness and decided to go back and replay Kou's route again instead :cautious:

I get you. I like him, but I felt a little bored doing his route, and he gives off more of an older brother vibe than a romantic partner ┐⁠(⁠ ⁠˘⁠_⁠˘⁠)⁠┌

Right 🥲 I just can't get myself vibe with his route ajjdkdkdj I can only see him as a best friend at best 🧍

This is another one I never managed to finish and dropped! but I'm planning on trying to finish his and Ukyo's routes since I imposed on myself the condition that if I don't do their routes then I'm forbidden from playing the fandisk

There's this otome game where LI killed in the beginning of his route another kind and nice LI ( i was so shocked and dropped his route immediately 😭) it had been 3 years since last time i played that game ( I don't want to spoil anyone so I won't say the name of the game but it's popular) nowadays I'm curious why he killed him i wonder if I'm ready

Yesss I remember Pirates in Love. I forget the exact LI but the guy calls you a bitch lmaooo. I dropped his route right away fr. I played ages ago so I forget most of the game.

I'm just about incapable of dropping a route. Or a game. Must finish one before starting another.

....which really works against me when I'm hating the route enough that I would rather play anything else. Just dropping otomes as a whole for months because I'm at a roadblock I don't want to trudge through. Counterproductive.

I paused Charade Maniacs to play other games and completely forgot about it, and that I still need three more characters to finish the game lol now I'm really looking forward to complete futami's route!

I could not play Yanagi's route (Collar x Malice). I just skipped it whole. And i feel real bad, but i am planning to replay his route one day

Yoosung from mystic messenger. Only one I can really think of. With otome / visual novel games, love the option to force skip so it's usually me getting bored of a game itself rather than a character? Or if the route is too long and I just get lost in the sauce / play list / real life.

I JINXED IT!!! Just picked up Sympathy Kiss again, and Tainaka in his own route certainly has some red-flag , lack of consent / respect of boundary comments that triggered me. Reminded me of toxic friends/people used to know since some lines were almost verbatim. For example, hugging the MC out of nowhere and if the MC reacted by telling not to do that (still newly met), Tainaka basically said that other girls lets him do it so why not to MC (hello, consent and different physical boundaries) and makes some other "under the breath" comments after MC refused. Anyways, had flashback to this post. >.>
