Edited :i named female characters from heroines i liked, but reading thread after posting ,it's about side female characters so i changed it

protagonists from Taishou x Alice and Steam prison; both are strong, witty, saucy and not overall weak and insecure like most female leads.

Agree! what these two have in common is how independent and strong they are, which is pretty rare in Otome games. Btw, Fujihajime, the scenario writer for Taishou x Alice, has another work called Shinigami to Shoujo that shares similar vibes.
I really hope to see more diverse character writing for protagonists in the future.

Many people dislike Yurika because she is a bit crazy, possessing a somewhat Yandere vibe, and selfish. However, I actually like her; she is quite intelligent and is willing to do absolutely anything for the person she loves, regardless of the consequences. I really enjoy that touch of madness in her.

Some may not like her, but I totally love Lucette from Cinderella Phenomenon! She was such a unique heroine and her character development felt deserved ♡

Saki Inafune from Sweet Fuse, largely because she is willing and able to call the guys out when they're being dumb. I love the fact to get some of the good endings you have to call them out. (And it's awesome to see the LI sprite they get when she does, like completely panicked lol)

Is it just me or are these designs not very otome game-like? They're not bad designs by any means (I actually like them a lot), but they somewhat resemble characters you would find in a dating sim/eroge. Not sure if I can further elaborate on why but I certainly feel that way.

...Perhaps otoges need more characters like these.

YURIKA MY QUEEN!!! I remember playing Taisho x Alice and was pleasantly surprised by how crazy she is, she's such a fresh breeze among the otome MCs. I adore her so much. I hope there are more otome with MCs like her
