Which LI/route did you initially have a terrible impression of, or did you feel you wouldn't enjoy, but then playing it caught you off guard?

My list is massive. I usually dislike any sort of 'shota' like characters at a glance but several characters became quite liked by me due to their stories, the most notable is:
- Yukimaro (( RIP) - Everyone seems to dislike this guy and find him annoying but I couldnt help but adore his endearing optimism and childishness, it was such a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of the melancholy in the game.

I'm shocked, why people don't like Yukimaro? He's so sweet and charismatic, it's impossible not to like him XD

Enishi from Ken ga Kimi. He... did not make the best first impression. But actually I liked him a lot by the end of the game. Hard to talk about without spoilers!

This is the first time I've heard of this game and character. I checked it out and he gives off a vibe similar to Harada from Hakuoki lol

Ikki from Amnesia Memories! I DESPISE reformed playboy tropes with all my heart. But he wasn't as bad as he turned out to be and his voice acting is really good!

I also hate the playboy trope, which is why I've been struggling for years to complete his route! Two years ago I tried replaying Amnesia to try and finish his and Ukyo's routes, which are the only ones missing, but every time I start I get angry at everything in Ikki's route, and Ukyo gives me the creeps in a bad way, so I just uninstalled it ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Kinji from winter's wish. he came off vain but as the route went on I did get into his character. He was protective and teasing but not in a mean way. I wasn't sure if I liked the whole concept of winter's wish but Kinji and Tomonari were the only ones I enjoyed in the game.

definitely Hanzo from nightshade, i tend go dislike the cold and stoic seemingly tsundere LIs so i thought it'd be the same with Hanzo but after playing his route he was so endearing and loveable that he actually became my fave.

This is BL but Kawase from hashihime :') as soon as I found out what happened to him as a child I changed my opinion of him completely lol

Kinji for Winters Wish: Spirits of Edo. Honestly, I wasn't expecting to like most of the characters in the game! It's not super common for my favourite to be one I don't have any interest in at the beginning.

Honestly Helvetica from bustafellows, I dont really like flirty 'playboy' characters but his route took me by surprise(in a good way) and is now one of my favorite LI from bustafellows

Ichiya from Variable Barricade. I won't spoil it, but I initally didn't like it, but then there was a very, very specific CG that broke me in HALF, and that kinda made him climb to the top, and it was INSANE to me just how my opinion of him changed.

Poster boys like Akaza! At first, I really thought I'd get bored because I have this prejudice against poster boys because of some characters. I also thought I wouldn't enjoy Tomomori Taira from Birushana but I love his route the most!

Definitely Helvetiva by Bustafellows. In season 1, it surprised me and I said it was a very good route, but in season 2 it definitely won me over and is currently my favorite LI in that otome game.
