i usually find myself gravitating towards either yanderes (haha), "cut throat" characters like okita, or the biggest yearners on earth (ankou)

i absolutely hate ANYTHING related to memory loss midway through the route or the "we actually met before as kids but we both don't know that" or instalove aka love at first sight because i like them to realize and develop their feelings during the route

I simply love Tsunderes and Genkis with all my heart; both are very sweet and honest! The ones I don't like are Yanderes and manipulative characters. In the first case, it seems more like he's obsessed with the protagonist than that he loves her, and when it gets to the end, I'm left unsatisfied because I'm left with the feeling of never knowing if the Yandere Li really loves the protagonist or is just an obsessed lunatic. In the second case, I get outraged when LI seems to be inducing the protagonist to do whatever he wants, and the worst part is when you, the player, can see it but can't interfere because the game doesn't give you options, or when it does, it's like in Neon Clash, like in
Sodyk's route where it was quite obvious he was manipulating Kroa, and because I realized this, I chose the response options that didn't make it seem like she was falling for his plan, which ended up resulting in me getting a bad ending :/ Although I liked his good ending, I simply can't bring myself to like Sodyk or the way the choices influence the game's progression, it was one of the worsts routes I had played in otome games ತ_ತ

I absolutely adore magical school setting.

Don't like condescending and controlling characters. "I know what's best for you" type. Also don't like when in confession scene LI (or MC) goes "What? I didn't hear you, were you asking about next test?" or something like that.

I'm this but the opposite -- I love characters that seem like genkis but actually turn out to be the opposite lmao! Linus from Mistonia reminds of me this but I don't think he gets dark enough imo < (^^,) >

I lovee enemies to lovers. The initial dislike to mutual respect to catching feelings gets me every time. (*´ω`*)
(from what I've played it doesn't come up often but it'll always live rent free in my head when it's executed well lol)
I'm not a fan of love at first sight stuff since I'm a slow burn fiend.

For me he's pretty dark and intense in Edward's astray ending ⊙﹏⊙

I also like stories with yandere or obsessive characters. I especially like it when non-human characters are like that. I like it when a love story has a touch of horror to it. Of course, it's different in real life. What I don't like is when the heroine just gives everything to the guy without question.

I love tsunderes, yanderes, edgy/emo/self-destructive characters. Nonetheless they need some romantic buildup too, otherwise it doesn't really feel like they're really into the MC (slow burn is the best <3). I also really dislike when they're mean in a superficial way and just talk down to the MC about things like how she's ugly or her weight. It's boring and really just done because she's female.

When it comes to MCs I much prefer voiced characters with a fleshed out personality. I hate ditzy, clumsy self-inserts and I can't play games with them. Other tropes I love are forbidden love-type dynamics, crossdressing (MC and LIs) and feminine LIs. I also really dislike age gaps with the male LI being much older, it just feels weird and they're usually ugly.

I usually go for the tsunderes and the younger characters, though not when there is a massive age gap.
I dislike it when the protagonist is related to the love interest, like when they turn out to be half-siblings or something similar.

I don't like the "we met and fell in love as adult but we actually knew each other in childhood" or past life lovers thing 😭This really breaks the spell for me. Destined/fated one ruin the whole thing like other LIs were casually there and didn't matter. Of course I get why people like this trope it's just personally doesn't make sense to me in otome games, it's a better concept for fixed stories.

I am a fan of slow burn and enemies to lovers tropes. I like it when characters first hate each other but then slowly fall in love with each other. As for the least favorite, that would be arrogant and selfish characters.

Yanderes and Haraguros are my fav :kurochan_kyaa: I just loveeee contrast!! so gap moe is great tooo! That's why I often fall for tsunderes because after they warm up, it's sooo cute!

I HATE the "I don't deserve u trope", or "LI is afraid of getting in a relationship" or "afraid of women", so MC has to VIGOROUSLY pursue them🤦🏻‍♀️Im here playing otome games to feel loved (and for the plot). That also kinda explains why yanderes are my fav trope haha. Since they are super obsessed with the MC. So they are basically exact opposite of the tropes I hate.

I like yandere, manipulative and overbearing characters, since I enjoy seeing desperate LIs lol.

I usually dislike tsunderes and cold/kuudere though, they can be very frustrating, especially with irregular tsunderes. Not a rule however, sometimes I may dislike the yandere and end up falling for the tsundere character.
I'm also not into age gaps overall.

I like soft yandere. Not fun being locked coz its always same annoying creepy mister basement. Like isekai truck san hah. Or yandere who trying kill me. So i like more obsessive , clingy type, stalking is fine. Also i like romance mystical creatures and mages.

I dislike friendship to love, exes , met before as kids, incest, violent yandere

My fav is the childhood friend (big brother type), like Toma from Amnesia. And i dont really like tsunderes, like Amnesia Shin or Collar x Malice Kakeru. And yeah, i dont really like womanizer Ikki or Hakuouki Sakamoto either.

yandere, haraguro and also kuudere are my fav.
i don't really like tsundre though. and childhood friends trope, i just find them not really intersting in general. yeah, there are a few exceptions but for the most time it's just meh

Idk why but I looooooove characters that act super cocky and talk a big game but are actually huge softies. (Quill from Bewitching Sinners...) Also I really like yanderes but I don't like the 'normal' possessive trope, if that makes sense. Like, it's gotta have that extra red flag flare to it.

I never liked the concept of stalking in otome games, it makes me really uncomfortable. Even if it's a fictional settings, I still can't tolerate it. Almost like there's a giant wall between me and those love interest with a stalker trope. I just can't bro,,

My favorites are yandere 10000%! As for my least favorite I'd say genki types… like really genki ones with no hint of sadness underneath just pure happiness and positivity (´;ω;`)

What I love most isn't the male lead's one-sided protection of the female lead, but rather how both are exceptionally talented in their respective fields, yet endearingly clumsy in matters of the heart. That "because of you, I've become a better version of myself" atmosphere has a more lasting impact than simple kisses and hugs.

I dislike situations where something could be clearly explained in a single sentence is deliberately concealed under the guise of "I'm doing this for your own good," resulting in three chapters of heartbreaking angst. This lack of communication feels outdated and irritating to me.

My favorite one is flirty LI hiding his true emotions behind his genkiness.

And my least one is probably LI that acts like a child?

i absoluetly adore yandere and possesive men, stalkers
i disklike when li acts like a child i hate exes to lovers again, i dont deserve you trope its so freaking slow and tiring

My favorite is kuudere and generally LIs who don't fall for the MC too quickly.

My least favorite is the obsessive childhood friend. Like, I'm usually ok with yandere and also with childhood friends, but not when it's both.

I'm a die hard kuudere enjoyer and I looove slow burn, it makes love progression more realistic and satisfying as characters gradually fall in love, which feels rewarding at the end

Enemies to lovers is often hit or miss for me, most of the time I don't enjoy it because I don't like how writers usually execute it
Also I'm not fond of haraguro and too obsessive yandere, probably because I'm more of a vanilla person who likes green flags and innocent love

I'm a himbo lover through and through, but I also like the big brother type, like Toma (I know). Himbo + big brother is my favourite combo.

As for something I hate- I really dislike the "I'm not good enough for you, so even though we both like each other, I won't allow us to be together' thing. You both like each other, but instead of making out there's all this angst and I don't like it
