Do you use a guide or go in blind when playing otome games?

At first, I usually go in blind because I want to see where my own choices will lead the story. After that, depending on the difficulty and complexity of the game, I'll decide whether to use a guide or not. Games with fewer choices are usually simple and don't require a guide, but for games with a lot of choices, it's a different story.

I play blind first to see which LI I naturally end up with. But if there is an LI that I really like / I end up with an LI I really don't like, I'll pull up a guide lol.

No matter which character it is, I always do my first run completely blind. No guides, no walkthroughs — just vibes. After that, though? I pull up a guide.

i used to go in blind growing up when time management used to be the least of my priorities, now that i'm in my late 20s i would prefer to use a guide as my free time is sparse now :')

I was trained as an obedient guide follower since my first Otome was filled with Bad End traps everywhere (Amnesia).
:boys_sulk:

Nowadays I try doing blind at first, but somehow it usually brings me to normal end so yeah I guess I suck at making decisions for MC guides will be on my hands forever. :p

I only play games without a guide if I encounter a game with a story tree or a game that interests me based on other people's reviews. For most games, blindly completing the first playthrough and then following a guide to collect other endings is a bit tiring for me. Using a guide and saving at the corresponding choices saves a lot of trouble, at least for me.

Like some people here, I'll also play blind the first time and use a guide for subsequent plays. But for routes I don't like or need to rush to unlock, I'll use the guide from the start. =))

On my first playthrough of each route I go in completely blind to see which ending I can get by using common sense and a basic understanding of the character, after that I use a guide to see all the other endings(and game overs) because I'm a completionist

For games with longer processes, I will use a guide from the very beginning, but occasionally I also play according to my own wishes.

It always turned out that I only used guides, and then one day I decided to play blindly and I started to panic, as if I was going through the game incorrectly. 😅😅

I used to always go blind but recently I only use guides to save time. And also because recently many otome games have specific route order to follow that help enjoy more and to avoid spoilers.
There were times that the first route I cleared has the many information on other routes and it made the other routes more boring when I switched to them. And there are games with routes recommended to play first to get basic infor of the world-building inside the game first for better understanding before switching to other routes as well.

I prefer to use a guide. Because I don't like bad endings. I prefer to read the good endings first, and then do the bad endings.

Going in without a guide stresses me out- 〣( ºΔº )〣 I go for a guide at every possible opportunity!

Always go for a guide Without it, it feels too much like an actual game and it's too much effort... I can't enjoy the story if I'm stuck raging over "how-to-get-the-ending". And if I pick up a guide after clearing one random ending, it'll feel like an inconvenience because I wasn't linear with it

I'm very much a perfectionist when it comes to games, so for me it's guide all the way. Ideally, I want my experience of the best end on a route to involve no skipping text so it's a full experience of the story plus my first reactions to it, so accidentally wandering down a bad end path would spoil that feeling for me. Also, since I go for 100% completion, guides make picking up all the rest of the ends much easier too. I can understand not wanting to use one if you don't particularly care about the 100% like I do, but it's definitely not a playstyle that gels with me.

I've realized that I've started using guides from the very beginning lately. But for some reason, if it's not a PC game, I still play without looking at any guides. Maybe it's because it's just so much easier to check a guide while playing on a PC.

I will play without looking at the strategy first. If the ending is bad, I will look at the strategy and play with a good ending. It's really difficult to have a good ending in some games. If I try it myself, it will take at least half an hour to achieve.

我下面回的是英文,但谷歌貌似自动把它翻译成中文发出去了,非常抱歉(つд⊂)

I replied in English below, but it seems that Google automatically translated it into Chinese and sent it out. I'm very sorry(つд⊂)

In the first playthrough, I usually avoid using guides, but that rarely leads to a good ending. To unlock all the CGs, I end up having to follow a walkthrough

It depends on the game.
There are some that I don't want to spoil my "first experience" with a bad end, because that will stick in mind the most. There are others that I like to play in a sort of "what would be the natural end result I end up with".
I don't really appreciate games with many bad end traps.
