YES! I absolutely cannot wait for Key la box. I've been following Kazuaki's otome works for years ever since I first played Starry Sky in Spring back in 2012. I saw it was always TBA on VNDB but now they released art and even a summary is so exciting!Why I'm SO excited for キー・ラ・ボックス (Key la box)

I genuinely can't stop thinking about キー・ラ・ボックス. This upcoming game just ticks so many of my otome boxes!It's an upcoming R18 otome by Lamina Planet/Animal Planet with character art by Kazuaki, who's known for Starry Sky (and some of you may know them from the spicy Drama CDs
), and the scenario already sounds incredibly heartfelt and swoon-worthy.
What draws me in most is the setting. The heroine, Anju, once captivated by a boy's street art on campus, unexpectedly ends up living under the same roof with that very boy when their families merge. The idea of the MC suddenly moving in with this guy, navigating awkward yet tender steps toward love, and literally holding a "key" to someone's heart, both metaphorically and story-wise, feels so cozy and promising.
Art by Kazuaki?!
Indie-dev passion project energy!
Sweet coming-of-age, living-together vibes!
I also really love that Key la box only has three love interests. That honestly makes me even more optimistic, since fewer LIs usually means the relationships can be more fleshed out, deeper, and more emotionally satisfying. I hope quality over quantity will feel very real here.
And yes, the official site recently updating with new R18 CGs absolutely reignited my hype and made me wanna talk about itSeeing those visuals made it hit me all over again just how excited I am to experience the full story, romance, and intimacy this game is building toward.
Why 目隠彼-メカカレ- (Mekakare) is insanely intriguing

Then there's 目隠彼-メカカレ- (Mekakare), which instantly captured my imagination with how unique and charming its concept is. This indie otome game takes place in a world where everyone hides their eyes in some way, with mekakure characters only, and you, as the heroine, are mysteriously isekai'd there.
The story setup is absolute perfection for quirky, character-driven fun:
You wake up in a strange city where no one shows their eyes, not because they're shy, but because it's part of the culture(?
You enroll in a new school, meet a cast of mysterious mekakure boys, each hiding their gaze and their secrets, and slowly start forming bonds that could change both your fate and theirs.
On top of all that, the dev said that Mekakare will be a free game, which is honestly amazing. The fact that such a creative, carefully thought-out otome experience will be accessible to everyone just makes me want to support it even more. It feels like a genuine passion project, and those are often the games that end up leaving the strongest impression.
The whole "hidden eyes" world hook is so creative that you just know there's symbolism, warmth, and deeper lore waiting underneath the surface. Slowly learning about each love interest, their personality, quirks, and what lies beneath what they hide, is exactly the kind of storytelling I love.
What are you most anticipated otome games for 2026? Let's talk about them!!
I haven't heard of this game but it's looks amazing!! Does it have a release date?Demonic Kiss: Unleashed! The art looks nice and I'm always down for a darker otome about demons!

I've heard from friends that are playing it right now that OVER REQUIEMZ is incredible, especially if you like yanderes so I guess you'll be in for a treat! Hope the localization delivers all its potential!YES! I absolutely cannot wait for Key la box. I've been following Kazuaki's otome works for years ever since I first played Starry Sky in Spring back in 2012. Haven't heard of Mekakare but that looks so interesting, I'll definitely have to look into it.
Otherwise I really look forward to the English translation of OVER REQUIEMZ, the art is so pretty, and I heard how the characters were yandere so I can't wait! I also played the prince of tennis games on the DS in the past so I'm excited for the remastered Switch version!!

Good thing I have essentially both these games funded already for the co op group.looking forward to sullyland and crazy chain!! i love the seiyuu lineups and hoping for more horror and suspense on future otome games <33 im also excited for over requiemz localization and i hope it does the game justice!!
same!! im so excited cuz i missed usuba kagerou's scrumptious art so much! i love the style in this game it's like they r going back to their wand of fortune r2/reine des fleur roots!!The game I'm most looking forward to is 《薄桜鬼異聞 ベレジンスキーの魔女》. I'm a devoted fan of the Hakuoki series, and I can say that this franchise holds an unshakable place in my gaming life. I'm really excited to see its past historical stories brought to life, and the artist's return to the gorgeous style from over a decade ago is such a perfect match for this title—I simply can't wait to find out when it will be released!

Same here! Especially since it's set in the same universe as even if tempest!I am looking forward to sins of KALEIDO 塔巡りし因果の魔女. I am attracted by the game name and the art style is also very beautiful. The games of this company are all pretty good!

There isnt any AI art in Dorico. I dont know why people keep saying that, its badly done live 2d in places with bad composition..there are so many interesting games to be excited for!! my list currently is:
kimi ni madoi, kimi ni oboreru.: it made a lot of noise on twitter due to non-otome fans misbehaving, but im so interested in it!! the artstyle is dreamy, mc is cute as hell, lis are all very attractive, and the premise is intriguing!! cant wait:D
key la box: 18+ otome?? sign me the heck up!!!!! i heard it was in a development hell of sorts, but im very happy its being developed again:)
shinrei shinjuu: admittedly i dont know much about it, but the main artist designed several vtubers i like, so i cant help but wait for the game to arrive:D
sullyland nursery rhyme: this is a horror otome, right? sounds suuuper interesting!! really need some more spooky otome in my life ww (i read ogamika no himegoto a week ago and still cant get over it)
sins of kaleido: IT HAS A CROSSDRESSING(?) LI!!!!! AND HE HAS A BEAUTY MARK!!!!!! AND HETEROCHROMIA!!!!!!!! AND HES VOICED BY MIDORIKAWA HIKARU!!!!!!!!!!! AND THERES ANOTHER LI VOICED BY STTK!!!!!!!!! im afraid this game is being made specifically for me.......... genuinely cant wait..............!!!!!
and three questionable ones:
dorico no toshokan: i know it had its controversies with ai art, but!!!! as long as they stay in pvs only, i think its okay to wait for it.. im just happy rejet is making new games;;;; i really hope they take criticism seriously...!!
crazy cha!n: im a little on the fence with this one, because some of the staff's commentary, virche's writer and mc's design make me side eye the game a little bit (especially considering whats happening on the otome fandom side currently), but lis are soooo good! especially god!!!! such a patootie lol
le mirage mystique: again, kinda on the fence due to licobits being under broccoli, but it looks pretty unusual.... and the main artist is very cool too!!!!;;
so i guess its safe to say im excited about literally every upcoming project without much exceptions... hahaha im sorry, i hope this is allowed;;;;
nope, if you watch their promotional vid its pretty clear they used ai because of how messed up it all warps! heres a good video that covers it. there was a huge backlash though so hopefully they learned their lesson!There isnt any AI art in Dorico. but people immediately see bad animation and shout AI with no foundational proof.
Is AI unethical if it is only trained of of your own art and resources? I'd say no.nope, if you watch their promotional vid its pretty clear they used ai because of how messed up it all warps! heres a good video that covers it. there was a huge backlash though so hopefully they learned their lesson!
its a difficult topic to discuss because unless you build your own ai model from the scratch and feed it your own words (which you need like a million of, which is extremely hard to achieve), you are still contributing to the global ai issue, because all you did is upload your works in the outside model. think, why are people okay with the vtuber neurosama? because vedal, her creator, built the entire model from scratch, instead of relying on chatgpt or something similar, which is why shes both ethical and funny as fuck (as in, without all the "sorry, i cant proceed with this request" bullshit. all filters are written by vedal himself, because in the early days people were abusing the shit out of the lack of filters). i dont believe rejet spent the last decade building their own ai model, and even if they did, this is what they came out with? a shitty parody with zero care? this alone deserves its own criticism lololIs AI unethical if it is only trained of of your own art and resources? I'd say no.
yes, it is unethical. kim hyung-tae, the ceo of shiftup, is doing exactly that, i.e feeding his art into a generic ai model and comes out with delicious slop. just like mentioned earlier, hes not using his own built model. moreover, he outright defends the usage of ai crap in game development, which is very heartbreaking, because hes a very prominent figure in the gamedev world. and art world too, because ive seen tons of people being heartbroken over his switch to ai, when he used to be such beautifully creative person. but if you are okay with ai, you can be mad at the copyright issues ai usage poses instead. after all, large ai models dont exist without stealing hundreds of thousands of data from artists who never gave their permission. and this is pretty shitty too!I could put 100 pieces of my own art into my own AI but if I create something with it - is it then unethical? Even the latest film I worked on which won a academy award for VFX, used AI in production. But only off of our OWN assets.
the spoon appears and disappears, the hair strands randomply appear and disappear too, movements look janky and lazy. checks all boxes of ai usageEdit: after watching that video I still cant see any evidence of her breaking down the video to show the AI usage in detail, just her complaining about AI use - without any substantial backing.
Vedal would still be popular without her model, she doesnt need the model to maintain the traits of being funny and such.its a difficult topic to discuss because unless you build your own ai model from the scratch and feed it your own words (which you need like a million of, which is extremely hard to achieve), you are still contributing to the global ai issue, because all you did is upload your works in the outside model. think, why are people okay with the vtuber neurosama? because vedal, her creator, built the entire model from scratch, instead of relying on chatgpt or something similar, which is why shes both ethical and funny as fuck (as in, without all the "sorry, i cant proceed with this request" bullshit. all filters are written by vedal himself, because in the early days people were abusing the shit out of the lack of filters). i dont believe reject spent the last decade building their own ai model, and even if they did, this is what they came out with? a shitty parody with zero care? this alone deserves its own criticism lolol

vedal is a man though, not neurosama. as its stated in the name, neurosama is the ai vtuber in question. most of the stream entertainment is attributed to her specificallyVedal would still be popular without her model, she doesnt need the model to maintain the traits of being funny and such.
And if I recall, she mad her model before the prominence of AI. You dont need millions amount of data for AI to do its work, there are models which have far less data than that and work amazingly well as long as the data it does have is focused. A lot of things can be trained specifically on base d references and fill in blanks from there. Even stock footage. The model we used at my work did not have MILLIONS of data sets but footage we created or gathered ourselves on water flow, rivers etc - all for generative water simulation.
I think people are confusing GEN AI with AI use. You can use AI and be ethical. We have no evidence they have used anyone elses AI data apart from their own. I dont see any stylistic changes at all within this model.
but I also like most of the other LIs. So Im excited to see them again (and hear all of their sexy voices
)
