personally i really like 8bit rpgs made with rpg maker and everything! while i have tried a few those with romance or so interactions in them (i will list them below) i still am in the search of these type of games!
if you have any recs or maybe upcoming projects - please feel free to share and tell us about them!

my personal recs are:

1) witch's heart:
10\10 my personal favorite
the premise is that we play as a girl named claire and accidentally get in rainstorm and have to hide in old witch's mansion but along with four other guys and that's where our story starts
genres are horror and story heavy game and occasional comedy and romance in some ways (also has puzzles battles and heavy themes better read trigger warnings before if you're sensitive to some themes)
it has main game (witch's heart), bonus episode (like a dlc to main game) and for now two more games (conclusions) which goes into routes of characters we stuck with and how they end
story is AMAZING characters and their dynamics are WONDERFUL the mc is BEAUTIFUL AND FUNNY!
the game is long considering the explorations and everything but it's worth it!

2) ten trials of babel:
i'd say it's solid 8\10
survival game + puzzles + OBVIOUS romantic interests and interactions
the story is intriguing but not so heavy filled - it's on the surface with few interesting turns of events
characters are great and their banters and dynamics are also ON TOP and interactions with our mc are sweet
you can also play everyone's route in one walkthought and THERE ARE SOME WOWIE CGS in the end of every character
there's also rumoured sequel of the game but i'd take this info with a grain of salt because there are not much news about it
but generally RECOMMEND!!!
this one is relatively short - maybe 4-6 hours

3) salty hounds:
now that one is in early access made in 8bit style side scroller gameplay
is we overlook some bugs and consider that it's still raw game then it's 6\10
story goes like this: mc's dad is the head of the security company called salty hounds and he got into an accident and now our girl is taking the lead of this company
this game is advertised as a otome game which means we clearly have romance in it and let me say koreans sure know how to make interesting stories and CGS ARE SO PRETTY ARTSTYLE IS SO GOOOOOD
gameplay is sadly repetetive - if you ever played games where you need to up your stats to pass some of the challenges - it's liek this in here
but the interactons with bachelors are very cute and sweet different dynamics with each of the boys and THEY'RE VOICED by some va's you actually might've heard before if you played mystic messenger or lads (rafael's korean va, sylus korean va too i think)
but as i said before game is still wip so try and check if you like it

for now that's all the games with 8bit style female mc and romance i know and can tell you about but i hope you have some that maybe not a lot of people know of!

please save me from the drough of almost none existent 8bit rpgs with romance (otome like) and share some thoughts and recommendations!

thank you very much for checking this post! :boys_thanks:

The Witch's Heart is nostalgic for me (´∩。• ᵕ •。∩`) I remember playing it back when there weren't any routes (I don't even know if they're complete nowadays). I have a game recommendation for you that fits your 8-bit game criteria, it's called Rainbow Sea. There's an mobile version but it's also available for Switch too. I played it on my phone even though it drained the battery quickly and got a little hot (my phone is an ancient stoner) and I thought it was very good despite having a somewhat sad and melancholic vibe. The endings are quite difficult to get, you have to activate events at specific moments if you want a certain ending. You can see how to get them by watching ads in the Android version. I tried playing without a guide but even so I couldn't get the endings I wanted, and I tried searching online, but unfortunately I couldn't find a guide online at the time I was playing, so I only got really sad endings. Check it out, it's worth it!

Here is the link for the mobile version:

I love them too. Also my fav The Wizard of Azeria , Silent Kingdom , MAGICAL DEATHPAIR as otome rpgmaker games. Although I'm not entirely sure this is what you're looking for.

witch's heart now has two conclusions of story (wilardo's and sirius) - so if you ever have any nostalgic yearn to replay the game and explore new content - you will have something to play!

thank you for your recommendation and for such a full sharing experience! i will definitely add this game to my list and i am 100% sure it will be such a good game just by your description!

big big biggest thank you! <3

Oops sorry just now notice your reply. You should try Silent Kingdom. Its fun and interesting story. Magical Deathpair have only 1 chapter on english and 2nd japanese. I played both. It's worth it. I'm not sure we'll ever see 3d chapter. As i read comments creator quit. Idk its true or not.
