I'm not fluent in English so I use Google Translate.
Please forgive any small mistakes.

I'd like to exchange information about recommended earphones and headphones that everyone uses to enjoy otome drama CDs and otome games.

Recently, I've been wanting to play games and listen to CDs with a focus on sound.
(I want to feel the character's voice more realistically.)

My recommendation is the wired earphones from Final (ファイナル) .
*Product called E500.

I listen to drama CDs on the Baseus Bowie H1i; they are decent. The breathing and soft voices sound very realistic, probably thanks to both Dolby surround on my PC and the headphones' built-in 3D audio. I recommend listening to CDs on over-ear headphones for the best experience.

I'm also using the Final E500. You can really hear every breath and sound clearly, which makes it perfect for lying down and relaxing while listening to drama CDs. I also tried a Japanese earphone called Piyahon, and it sounded amazing. With so many wired and wireless earphones available, choosing the best one can be tough.

Thank you, mimi99, for the useful information!
I prioritized "realism in the voice," so this was very helpful.

nanacho also uses "Final." I also like to listen to CDs while lying down.
Thanks for the information about "Piyahon"!

I would like to express my gratitude once again to these two kind people.

I'm not fluent in English, so I wasn't confident about how to use the site and refrained from posting so as not to cause trouble, but I'm glad I mustered up the courage to create a thread.

Thank you so much, mimi99 and nanacho, for being so kind to me.

This is an interesting topic to discuss! Don't have particular models to recommend due to region differences>< If it can be found easily within your area that suits your requirements and budget, it should be fine:)

Have tried wired earphones (perfectly functional!), over the ear headphones (haven't found a comfortable design) but did buy a semi in-ear type that hangs on the ear.

It has a clear sound that I prefer and dummy-head mic recorded audio(s) sounds really good on it 😳

Personally, I use airpods max if I'm at home or airpods pro when I'm out. They're both great as they have excellent noise-cancelling, great for immersion! Any noise cancelling head/earphones work well.

Interesting! I've never heard of this brand before, but I'll defintely try their ZE or UX series since unfortunately my phone doesn't have an audio jack slot :(

For my PC setup, I use the Sennheiser HD599. Its more on the expensive side and openback (Sound will leak out from the headphones!), but its very comfortable and picks up voices very well.

I'm afraid to use noise-canceling headphones outside because anything can happen. I use regular headphones for outdoor activities so I don't feel disconnected from my surroundings.

Haha, great question! Since members here come from all over, I'm also relying on translation software to chat with everyone.
Right now I'm using the 【绯乐涟2】 hi-fi IEM; the best thing about it is how comfy it sits in your ears—even after marathon gaming sessions. I'm not sure if it's available in other countries, but if you can find a retailer, I highly recommend it. It's become my go-to for both movies and games.

There are a lot of kind people on this message board.
Thank you for sharing your recommendations!

I think baybridge is right.
I looked into the things everyone told me about.
Unfortunately, some of the products were not available in my area.

I hope that the wonderful products you all have told me about will reach people living in the sales area.
Baybridge, you've tried a lot of different earphones. I'm glad you found the best one for you!

>>tsuii.
I think it's a great idea to use different headphones depending on the situation.
For a while, I enjoyed otome works with earphones when I slept and headphones when I was awake.

I was interested in noise cancelling but don't have one yet.
Your story has made me even more interested. Thank you for letting me know.

If you try the ZE or UX series, please let us know what you think!
I researched the Sennheiser HD599. As Shikuromi said, the price is a little high, but the reviews are even higher.
I think you made a great purchase.

I also use a translator to chat,
and I'm relieved to have a friend like you.

I often listen to Otome CDs while I sleep, and before I know it, it's morning and I've had earphones in my ears all night, so the fact that they don't hurt my ears even when I use them for long periods of time is a big plus. Thanks for sharing the nice information.

Hi everyone! Sorry if my English isn't great; I'm using a translation tool to communicate.

I used to use the final E500, but I've switched to the final VR3000 for Gaming. Personally, I think if you enjoy ASMR and value a sense of space (soundstage), the VR3000 is a better fit. If you prefer wireless earbuds, the final ZE500 for ASMR is also a solid choice.

Just a heads-up: these recommendations are specifically for ASMR and binaural recordings—they aren't really meant for listening to music.

I bought myself a Yowu Elf Wireless Earphones. I can't tell by the sound because I don't know much, but in my opinion, the sound is good compared to ordinary cheap headphones.

That's such an interesting design! I've seen some fan-released wireless earphones at Chinese e-commerce sites based on different characters too (amazing design skills 🥰!!).

Sound preference really depends on the individual and glad you found one that you like <3

I'm not sure if this will be helpful as I don't listen to drama CDs too much (I play otome games more often), but I have before and do sometimes (and I want to start listening to them more). I use Focal Elegia headphones to listen to all audio in general. This model is discontinued, but the company, Focal, sells other headphone models that you can check out (Focal Celestee might be the most similar to Elegia as basically its successor).

I personally enjoy the audio from my headphones and think it's quite high quality, and I'm sure all of the brand's products are just as if not more high in quality as well, but as a more high-end brand, they're definitely very expensive (I was lucky enough to be able to buy my one at a heavy discount and I recommend that people search for those for whatever they purchase) so there are probably more affordable options available that meet others' needs better.

In terms of otome games and CDs, I think my headphones capture all the voices clearly without ever sounding harsh or grating, although the headphones themselves are relatively bulky/heavy, which doesn't bother me personally but might not be something some people want (like for the following reason). If you want to listen to CDs for sleep or while lying down, over-ear headphones might not be the best idea as they can be bulky and get in the way while lying down. There are some that are definitely more lightweight, but I personally still am afraid that they will be crushed when lying down (so maybe earphones would be better for that). I don't listen to anything as I sleep or when lying down, so I prefer over-ear headphones as I prefer the audio quality and they feel more comfortable to me.

Something to take into consideration as well are open-back vs closed-back headphones. Open-back headphones leak sound, so basically everyone around you can hear what you hear, so that might not be what you want if you want privacy, like if you don't want people hearing your otome CDs lol. That probably doesn't matter if you're alone though. My Elegia headphones are closed-back (again, they're discontinued but there are other closed and open-back headphones sold by Focal and of course other brands) which I prefer because I feel like the point of headphones (over speakers) is the privacy. Some people say open-back headphones sound better and more immersive though (wider soundstage, etc. so probably a more spacious, expansive feeling).

My headphones are wired which I strongly prefer, but I am aware that most smartphone models nowadays have no headphone jack so you'd need an adapter to use wired headphones on these types of phones. For this reason, wireless may be preferable for some people and for more freedom of motion? But I personally don't really like having to charge them and in terms of earphones or earbuds, they're much easier to lose if wireless.

I'm not an expert on any of this (and I probably repeated things people already knew - sorry), but I hope this is still a little bit helpful?? Sorry for the length.

I have the Sony XM4 headphones which I swear by. It's pricey but the sound quality is well worth it (in my humble opinion xD) and it comes with a headphone jack which is pretty neat!

I use the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 Ohm's with my Audient Evo 4 as my audio setup for Otome games and similar media. Incredible audio quality and great comfort.

I'm currently using the Audio-Technica ATH-S220BT, which leans more toward treble. I'm thinking of switching to a Sony over-ear headset (still deciding whether I need noise canceling) that can better deliver deep bass, and for now I'm watching the prices.

So you're a Final fan too.
I'm glad to have a comrade.
Like you, I use a translator.
Coincidentally, you and I have two things in common.

I have wired headphones for my PC, Sony MDR-7506, but I will buy any $30 earbuds from the brand TOZO NC9 because they all break down after 2 years later regardless of brand too for when I go on walks and errands for normal music too.

My friend recently gave me a new pair of headphones, the Moondrop Rays. I think the sound quality is better than any headphones I've used before, and the spatial sound is also very noticeable. Unfortunately, I can't use them while sleeping because they hurt my ears when I lie on my side. 🥲

I believe comfort is very important when it comes to headphones and earphones.
I'm currently using BOSE headphones, but they make me tired, so I can't wear them for long periods.
The sound quality is wonderful and I really enjoy listening to music with them, though.
It was very helpful to see so many earphones introduced here. I'll use this as a reference when choosing a replacement.

Thank you.

I don't even know the brand but they look something like this (add more tape to hold the wire):

I'm so broke💀
Hopefully one day, when I have the funds, I'll get myself some good quality headphones T-T (feel free to make fun of them I can buy a new pair from a drugstore but since it still works I keep stalling)

I've used similar earphones for a long time and only changed to wireless semi in-ear earphones because the phone no longer has an audio jack - no pressure that it isn't quality ear/headphones ^^
Hope you get one that you like soon <3
