hello,
i'm not very active here but i check for some games from time to time.
today though i cant open any threads in the Otome Games, Artbooks & CDs section. i don't know if this means i did something and was blocked from that area or if there is an issue with the site? i didn't get any emails and all my alerts here are gone

Solution
Why do we even need this forum if the game's access is now attributed to 'contributions'? If you need me to make 200 posts with game assistance, it can last for years. And I don't want to work for free when users who registered earlier than me with the same number of messages have special access. It's really easier to just buy a game

You do need to stop making up numbers. I never specify any numbers. To begin with, where did you get that number 200 posts from? If it's coming from me saying to attain a certain rank, then surely for the rank. I never say to access Otome Group, requires 200 posts.

Thanks For The Info. I Am Experiencing This Myself Too. A Punishment For Lurkers Perhaps? HaHa ;-;

Not really no, I cannot...
Thanks, i will try. This feels kinda sad, cause i was here only for the otome section. I dont know the reason this is happening (maybe is a big one). Getting out of there to talk with people i dont know. about things i also dont know, in a language thats is very hard for me... maybe i can find something interesting there. But it gonna take months for me, sadly.
It should not take that long, unfortuantely these precations are in place as people were not 'sharing' but taking without offering gratitude or any other interaction. Please interact with the community more and the forum more and you are likely to regain your access.

You can use translator. My english bad too. You don't need text a lot. Just check some threads and ask some question . I think you have favorite boys from otome game. So you can write. There is thread about it. Also if you like some games/ anime/manga/Otome Doujinshi, Voices & Misc. Also i think you have access to " Otome Game Requests " Just check some threads .

I was lurker too. My english bad. Im very shy. I was only request games and say" Thank you" . Idk why people forget send " love "and thanks people that upload games... Maybe that's why I don't have 0 messages/reactions. I rarely wrote other threads. Only what anime /games/ manga i like. And just recently i became more active.

You'll have to gain access to view those topics. You can read the previous posts in this thread to learn what you have to do to gain access, but basically you'll have to interact with the community here. Just make sure you don't spam. You can start by chatting in the otome corner. There are many threads there where you can talk about otome games.

Hi thank you for your query!
We are here as a community and thus expect minimal engagement within the community. As this is a forum dedicated on sharing, participation is required as taking is a one sided action. Thankfully,if you are here for otome contents, so are a lot of people so you can gain access by following the steps beneath
You can easily qualify after becoming part of the community by:
  • engaging the group and interacting in the Otome forum.
  • Reacting to threads with your own feedback.
  • Saying thank you or contributing your own content.

There will be no exceptions to this requirement.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Do you mind if I ask why specifically the otome community? Is it something to do with the rarity of the game shares in the first place?
If I may share my opinion, one of many reasons is to ensure the uploaders's (or other members who shares games) security/privacy.
And to prevent certain people who will report to dev and so members won't get a love letter for the dev :)

Additionally, I'd like to ask a question—though some people might have seen it answered in other threads already. I still want to ask:
For file hosting links, how long do links typically need to remain active? And are there any recommended free file-sharing services?
If you want a long-lasting file-sharing services, you can try Google drive, mega, mediafire, pixeldrain (beware tho, pixeldrain account can get easily banned) or mixdrop (but mixdrop has pop-up ads for people who don't have block-ads feature so it can get annoying for certain people). I recommend Mega tho, since the storage size for free account is quite big.
Also your English is good so don't worry about that 👍

Pixeldrain requires a notice from the offical publisher of the good being DMCA'd not just a random report, thankfully.

Am I understanding correctly that the new rules are only for the otome section, whose audience is almost entirely women? Wait… that's actually the case? That's just hilarious. Just imagine if these rules applied to, say, hentai games in the general section for a male audience. Ha-ha. But women will put up with anything, right? I was born a woman (with diagnosed social anxiety) to suffer.

I still don't get it. Why do these new rules for access only apply to the otome section?
Here's the more in-depth answer for as opposed to the other sections from a mod:

As far as I am aware its due to the fact the Otome section gets a large collection of people who enter just for downloads but no other contribution, most otome groups worldwide are quite closeted and will use our forum to add to their collections without ever adding anything themselves here. (Otomedream and others)

We do not want the files our members tirelessly contribute to be shared to other communities or mass reported which has been happening with some of our uploads. This measure is to ensure the members of the community who are part of this community can still access the things they like and reduce reupload requests and theft.

So yeah, the state of the otome community is supposedly bad enough that it warrants some kind of additional protection.

TLDR
There are a lot of bad faith actors who steal content a lot of members have paid for to share -only here- and upload to mass websites claiming it is their own.
our files get DMCA'd which do not allow us to re-upload them, this has happened to me twice in the span of two days, it makes it impossible to ensure our files are safe.

How can you steal what's already stolen? I thought the whole point of pirate content was to share it.

The rules on the site say that links -CANNOT- be shared outside of Anime-sharing, if you take that link then put your file on a seperate website, it is against the sites rules. If you have a problem you can find your files elsewhere.

Okay, let's assume. Rules are rules. But it's unfair and strange that the new restrictions apply to only one section of the site. What's wrong with the otome game files you upload? Why don't other sections have this problem?

It's not "already stolen" when it's self-brought though? Which is often the case for otome games since they just aren't that widely circulated, meaning the source originated from the actual users here.
As soon as you make a copy and upload it, you have created pirated content.

First of all I apologize for the inconvenience.

We are not here to argue with you. If you don't like it, please just leave. We didn't force anyone to come here.

Life is never fair. You should know it by now.

As always, it's even harder to join other communities but somehow we are the bad guy while being opened for over a decade.

I read your message before you edited it. Responding to your original message:
Yes, I don't pay for content, but I continue to seed several terabytes of content after downloading it from pirate trackers, create fan art, and write fanfiction for fandoms, promoting it to paying audiences, yet you're kicking me out because I don't want to socialize?? I just don't know what other kind of participation you expect on this forum to get into your elite club.

your frustration is 100% understandable. however unlike hentai (specifically galge) section, where links are often taken from various corners of the internet (not saying people there are not buying stuff), otome corner is like 90% made up by people who buy the games themselves and decide to generously share it with the world. unlike hentai, which is very easily distributed across countless forums and sites, otome has very few communities, and one of them is notoriously closeted (otomedream). people were sharing the links to the games bought by people of this forum specifically for asf, despite numerous disclaimers to not share outside of the forum, and it was naturally leading to tons of links being struck very often. sometimes even gamedevs themselves come here and request to delete the links. again, your emotions are completely understandable, but please try to understand the situation too

But what about creating torrent distributions? This entire system seems very unreliable if files can be disposed of so easily. What if the focus shifted from creating new restrictive rules to figuring out a different way to share files?

thats a good question actually. i actually remember a situation on some imageboard with a specific rpgm game whose links kept getting struck in the matter of days or even hours, until someone got sick of it and just created a torrent magnet link, and it was really active for the longest time lol. im not very knowledgeable on the subject though, and its something that deserves its own separate discussion anyway

you're kicking me out because I don't want to socialize
If you don't want to socialize, what's the point of complaining here? Isn't it more logical to ... just go elsewhere that doesn't require you to socialize?

I don't understand your point anymore.
I just don't know what other kind of participation you expect on this forum to get into your elite club.
Figure it out yourself

Of course, you're welcome to create a thread, upload a torrent, start seeding, and I assure you will earn the ticket to this "elite club". LFG, YGMI.

But we both know you don't want to do it. You just want to tell everyone else to do it, and you will be happily on taketh side, giveth is too much trouble.

Of course, you are free to include a torrent. It's not mandatory, but you're welcome to do it. There were few members had done it in the past. We welcome all contributions... didn't we? Uploaders and Contributors are free to use any means they want to.
