Recommend otome games with fairytale theme

At least in the Otome genre, there's a lot of that kind! If you don't limit yourself to just English, it opens up a lot of options. Any QuinRose game basically has that theme. But I think their most famous one is Heart no Kuni no Alice. Akazukin to Mayoi no Mori is almost like Little Red Riding Hood, the game's name itself has Little Red Riding Hood in it, and the game's intro is basically the same as the story.

Trick or Alice has the same theme, Shizuku is my favorite. I think I could also include Ozmafia as a suggestion? That one has an official English translation. Moujuutsukai to Ouji-sama too, there's an unofficial English patch that you can use to get the Switch version of the game.

Ningyo no Hiyaku wa Koi no Jumon has a lot of the Little Mermaid vibe, it's not very long either, I might be forgetting some, but I love the fairy tale theme.

Karin Entertainment's Zettai Meikyuu Grimm and Zettai Meikyuu Himitsu no Oyayubi-hime for sure! They touch on some lesser-adapted fairytales too and they're a lot of fun. In a bit more unconventional fairytale theme, I can't recommend Primula's Taisho x Alice games enough either.

I like this topic so allow me.

RPG Maker Horror with Fairy Tale Fantasy Dark theme (Non Otome but all that i list is female protagonist): Pocket Mirror (There's classic version which free and also remake paid version on steam), Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, Faust Alptraum, Bury. There's also plenty fantasy-ish RPGM games too but non fairy tale theme.

Otome games with Fairy Tale theme: SWEET CLOWN, Shinigami to Shoujo from TAKUYO, Kyoukai no Shirayuki, ALICE=ALICE, OVER REQUIEMZ, Nie no Akazukin (18+), Shiro to Kuro no Alice, SNOW BOUND LAND, some of Karin Entertainment and plenty of QuinRose games as listed by others.

See the rest here: https://vndb.org/g1008?f=80UJ&m=2&p=1&s=24w

Non otome VN with Fairy Tale theme (Female Protagonist/Dual Protagonist): Sona-Nyl of the Violet Shadows ~What Beautiful Memories~ personally kinda otome game-ish despite it's listed as common galge/eroge and Adabana Itan.

wadanohara mentioned!!!!!!!!!! god this is one of the greatest games of all time in my humblest opinion. such a beautiful story..... i think everyone should play it..........!

i want to recommend genso manège, i think it qualifies? it's very dreamy and fairytale-like. there's no horror elements, though.

not otome: i've been meaning to check out it gets so lonely here and little goody two shoes (prequel to pocket mirror). i've played alice mare and enjoyed the overall vibe of it too. will add more if i remember!

Taisho x Alice is definitely one of the greats.

Cendrillon Palika is themed around Cinderella. Not quite a fairytale but adjacent, Over Requiemz is themed around the Wizard of Oz. There's a WHOLE cottage industry based on Alice in Wonderland themed otome games. While YMMV over how otome it is, Kannou Mukashibanashi is basically a compilation where they retell fairytales to the reader. Mother Goose no Himitsu no Yakata is LITERALLY about learning Mother Goose rhymes.

Also, while it is not about any particular fairytale, Moujuutsukai to Oujisama reads exactly like a fairytale and wouldn't be out of place in a fairytale compendium. It features prince charmings enchanted into talking animals, a plucky heroine to undo the curse with true love (and some brains and courage), and just...a lot of fairytale logic in the story.

For a fairy tale theme, I'm thinking of Mistonia's Hope - The Lost Delight -, it doesn't have a horror theme but it does have a revenge tag.

i don't think so, maybe that was bad end? there's no poly as far as i know. yeah can confirm from japanese review that was bad ed. avoid it at all cost and just aim happy end instead if you can't stand on it.

I want otome game with fairytale theme it okay if not otome and I need fairytale theme with horror vn or rpg

If a wonderland theme is in line with fairytale, then you may like Shiro to Kuro no Alice. Available for the Vita and Switch, and has a fandisc as well. You get to play from two different perspectives, really enjoyed it personally.

I've shared the artbook onsite if you're wanting to get an idea of the art style beyond the cover, but obvious spoiler warning if you do that. I hope you can find something you like ❤️

Taisho x Alice is a good one, as others mentioned! If you decide to play it, heed the content warnings.

My Merry Bad Ending is short and great. It's more of a tragedy than a horror, but there are some creepy endings IIRC.

Fairy Tale themed RPG Maker horror games and no mention of Fantasy Maiden's Odd Hideout? It's almost as close as it gets! Maybe this iceberg image does have a point when it places the game at the bottom tier...:gokiko_white:

You can definitely feel the otome vibe throughout the game (and it's even in title lol). But then again a lot of RPG Maker horror games do already even if they aren't otome or romance games by definition.

Ah. I played that too before but i forgot to mention it too. yeah fantasy maiden odd's hideout and dreaming mary is fairy tale-ish rpg maker games too.

there's even ib, angels of death, mogeko castle, corpse party, chloe's requiem, the gray garden, witch house, misao, mad father, yume nikki, crooked man and even alice mare and 1 bit heart too. I've played them all and how nostalgic seeing you mentioned them! but i think they're missing paranormal syndrome/kaii shoukougun series, forest drizzle rain/kirisame furu ga mori. sadly there's also another rpg maker games too but alas they're left unknown due to untranslated. If you're interested with untranslated title i recommend: kurui tsuki(狂月), angelic syndrome and utsuro machi no nobara(虚ろ町ののばら).

It makes me feel nostalgic to see so many RPG Maker games being mentioned. I still love the Crooked series; I have most of their games, some were released on Steam so I ended up buying them. Unfortunately, CHARON games aren't translated anymore these days. :< I love A Forest of Drizzling Rain, and his Angels of Death is also very good, but neither exactly captures the fairy tale theme, but I highly recommend them too. But now, remembering the horror vibe of Mermaid Swamp, I think it falls into the "fairy tale" category. Little Goody Two Shoes too, it's more recent. There was a time when I was addicted to games of this style, so I tried a little bit of everything.

Hāto no kuni no Arisu:love:It's an old game, but the main character is a girl who can get angry and reject the injustice she receives.

You would absolutely love SWEET CLOWN! After finishing the truth route, it took me three whole days to recover. The script is truly, truly, exceptionally good!!!
