Question can't open threads

hello,
i'm not very active here but i check for some games from time to time.
today though i cant open any threads in the Otome Games, Artbooks & CDs section. i don't know if this means i did something and was blocked from that area or if there is an issue with the site? i didn't get any emails and all my alerts here are gone

Just be active and participate. Don't just download. It's a bit of a complicated system to explain but essentially just, be present and contribute.

Unfortunately the otome community needs these protections compared to other sections of the website.

I'm not sure if this is the exact reason, but I'd like to humbly share my own thoughts:
I've been exposed to some otome works.
Otome works (whether R18 or not) often approach themes quite differently from male-oriented works, and this is especially noticeable in adult-rated titles.
Male-oriented works tend to focus more on direct, explicit stimulation,
while otome works pay closer attention to subtle emotions and gradual emotional development.

Not everyone can embrace these differences, especially in today's online climate where emotions and opinions are often amplified to extremes.
Moreover, otome works—especially playable games—are relatively scarce. Most content sharers tend to focus on male-oriented works, and there are very few people with the ability, technical skills, and willingness to build up an otome-focused section.

That's why I believe some degree of protection might be necessary.

Additionally, I'd like to ask a question—though some people might have seen it answered in other threads already. I still want to ask:
For file hosting links, how long do links typically need to remain active? And are there any recommended free file-sharing services?

I'm a fan of Pixeldrain. The free tier covers most of my needs for uploads and sharing but the paid options give a lot of storage as well if you need to share bigger files. https://pixeldrain.com/user/subscription

Files expire after 60 days on the free tier, but don't worry about that. Just mention that you're around to reupload if someone needs or allow for mirrors.

Alright let me put it this way. I would want to make it as crystal clear as possible before we move on to wave 2.

Scrape bot: we want to get rid of them. Including hundreds of their clones army.

Lurker user who download a lot but did not interact: also similar to scrape bot. Will be classified as such.

Lurker who occasionally help out: Good, we want to encourage and reward those who pitch in their knowledge as well.

Regular user who rarely visit, doesn't interact much: Also OK. Everyone start somewhere.

Contributor, Uploader, Trusted and Elite member are the backbone of the community.

Clone account trying to be regular user: They will also get the shaft. Sometimes they managed to earn the Trusted and Elite member too, but we will take action as soon as they cause trouble.

New user: This group will be a bit more tricky. We want to make it as easy as possible for new user to join, while preventing abuses. We have a pretty good idea what to do about that and this group will be sorted in the next upgrade.

International user who are not fluent in English: we also does not want to target this group.

True dat. I would say on average, a female-oriented vn tend to be more focused on the plot & characters than a male-oriented vn. Of course, there are no shortage of "playing it for the plot" male-oriented vns out there, but a lot of the time the story in those games are only really there to justify or written around the sex scenes.

Typically, if the uploader pay for storage, like mega.co.nz, google drive, windows live storage etc, the link will last forever until someone report it.

For other service, there's an expiration date ranging from 30-90 days but it is very inconsistent. They will remove a large file without any download a lot sooner than the imprinted duration. Storage (and every computer parts) are expensive nowadays, and I expect them to scrub (delete) more aggressively.

As far as I am aware its due to the fact the Otome section gets a large collection of people who enter just for downloads but no other contribution, most otome groups worldwide are quite closeted and will use our forum to add to their collections without ever adding anything themselves here. (Otomedream and others)

We do not want the files our members tirelessly contribute to be shared to other communities or mass reported which has been happening with some of our uploads. This measure is to ensure the members of the community who are part of this community can still access the things they like and reduce reupload requests and theft.
