Anyone know wtf is going on with Hongfire?

Does anyone know wtf is going on with Hongfire I haven't been on the site for some time so I went on today see what was happening in the site and almost every page in the forum is full spam and after spam for fake porn streaming links to fake movie streaming links did Hongfire get hacked or something?

Just look at the banners on top of the HF page, they are from August 2016, so noone incl. Hong himself did anything anymore since more than 2 years, and the whole staff is missing in action, so noone is still left (and active) there to clean that mess...

The condition HF is in with all that spam flooding the forum completely since a long time now was the reason why I left that forum finally about half a year a ago, and as long as this circumstances stay as they are I will not be coming back anymore, which is really sad because it was the first forum I ever joined in about 15 years ago or so.

Not even a new moderator would do anymore, because the amount of posts / threads to delete and all the IP´s to be banned (spam clean) cannot be done by the MCP (moderator control panel) anymore, because the amount has become far too big, you would need admin status and the ACP (admin control panel) to be able to handle the problem, and best more than one with that status and the will to bring that forum back to life, but I doubt that anyone will do that or become a volunteer...

And I myself won´t ever do that...

As a matter of fact, it DID got hacked sometime in 2015 and it was, quite literally, the beginning of the end.

The end came pretty much as someone there had predicted - the shift to the new version of vBulletin was a sign of things [falling apart] to come, but the real caveat is that Hongfire had gone completely AWOL (with an activity reported on mid-July of this year but not clear what it was). Of course, communication is still impossible...
