Rapidgator (free) frequently blocking me from being able to download when I should be able to (like for 8 hours+).

So for the past few weeks or so RG free has been really bad with giving me this message: http://i.imgur.com/wHTiKsd.png
Immediately after a download finishes or even 8 hours later, went to bed last night after one finished, shut down, got up today, booted up, went to DL one and got the message again. And like I said, it's been happening very, very often over the past few weeks, more common that I only get one or two DL's a day from the site than more as I should.

Does anyone else get this? Any safe way to fix it other than resetting my IP (if that even works?).

Perhaps, it's better if you would use JDownloader2? cope with resetting your IP. I think they remember cookies as well but I can't be sure.

I use this http://jdownloader.org/download/offline instead of that, but I assume either can be used.

You still need java. I know JDownloader isn's that top notch but it works well with filehost. You just have to fiddle with the settings, so to stop it from downloading everything and only when you tell it to.

I tried earlier but it was still giving the same message when I tried with JDownloader and the message carried through. When it finally lets me download again (tomorrow afternoon will be my next chance it seems) I'll try it through JDownloader and see how it goes afterwards.
A couple Days RG has been fine and worked as it should but more often it just breaks for ages *shrug*

The "reconnect for new dynamic IP button" failed too.

This one required advance setup, depending on your modem/router/connection method.

You should try to manually disconnect your internet, then reconnect it. When doing so, you must do it at modem or router WAN.

If you don't understand what I'm talking about, just try to turn off your modem and turn on, that usually should do it unless you're on a static IP address.

Worth a try I suppose, just that there's usually someone on it and I heard it can take up to 24 hours for a new IP to be issued.
Anyway, left it off for a couple minutes then back on, lo and behold the error is gone. It's not something I'll be able to do all the time but occasionally to fix it at least. I... don't know why I didn't try before. Anyway, thanks ^_^
See how it goes come tomorrow afternoon.

Have you updated/switched your browser recently?
It sounds like the download is not properly terminated, leaving RG to think it's still going on and to block you until it times out.

^I thought it must have been something like so I thought maybe rebooting might fix it but it didn't. I think it also happened after a cancelled download once too, which it shouldn't have.
As for browser, nah, unless maybe an update to Firefox did it but I'm not sure when the last update was in relation to this starting. Haven't installed and set up Chrome to try.
It has happened to me at work twice as well. So much less often but still happened. Firefox v39 there too.

Anyway, with JDownloader they all went perfect today. So thanks again for suggesting it.

About the method checkmate mention:
- 1st you can go here to check your IP: ip2location.com
- turn off your modem and wait for at least 30s
- turn on again then go to that site again.
If you IP change then you use dynamic IP.

This method may help you download since most hosting count using IP. But remember the other in the same ISP may use that too. So if you get an IP that already use, you still see the error.

Wll,I use Rapidgator with free mode without problem like this before.
This method from Checkmate and my experience.
1.Delete Cache and cookies. If not work Uninstall Browser that you use. Don't use default mode to uninstall.Install your Web browser again.
2.Try to use download manager like JDownloader (Always Update Java for security) or Internet Download Manager.
3.Unplug your wireless router about 5 mins and press on for clear voltage on capacitor with unplug. If not try reset router and call ISP for User and Pass.Backup data on router for safety.
4.Use VPN like OpenVPN to change your IP from your country.Link (VPN Gate):http://www.vpngate.net/en/

Wish my idea can help you.Good luck.

Well, happened again last night and this morning through JDownloader. Seems short of using a VPN, it's still gunna happen. Oh well.

I think you try to clean install Windows or use factory reset if you get license windows with OEM like ASUS,DELL or any brands.Which this function on Windows 7/8/8.1.It will delete data, program, cache data, malware and IP that install on windows partition. Please backup data to drive D:,ExternalHDD or NAS.That the last method for me to fix computer.

I really can't be bothered reformatting to be quite honest, even if it would fix it. But thanks anyway.

Edit: Oh, and it worked fine throughout today. I guess it's just going to be temperamental every now and then *shrug*
