Sure I have a date, format and language set to Japanese, and I tried installing DirectX, but that didn't fix it at all.

Seems like the game does not like your VGA for some reason.

Can you run the game setting program.
It's located on start menu under ココロ＠ファンクション！ > 起動設定ダイアログの表示.

also, your 4th screenshot is the same as the first one.

edit:
here's my setting dialog

you might want to check the features available on your VGA.
The game complains about AGP テクスチャ　アクセラレータ not available on your system.

Mind telling me what is your VGA?

And my real VGA is Geforce 560Ti, but VMWare only shows one setting about it: "Accelerate 3D graphics", checked by default.

I get it.
Your problem is that you are running it from VMWare.
The vga provided by VMware does not support AGP texture acceleration:
AGPテクスチャアクセラレータ:利用不能

I tried to use VMWare once to play eroge, thinking that I could just copy the VM if I want to do a format on my computer.
The plan got cut short by games that require powerful VGAs.

This is what the setting screen should look like:

And the reason why the help text appears, is that they are stored as image, not text.
thus, your VGA displays them correctly.

I can play (almost) any visual novel on my VMWare, and it (almost) always worked fine.
Of course, Illusion games doesn't count :)
Well I guess I'll try installing it on a real system later and see how it will work.

Most games that run on the kirikiri, buriko, and CS2 engine should run fine under VMWare.
That means most game are fine.
I do not expect anything with heavy amount of 3D component in it to be able to run though.
Which means baldr sky zero with the new 3D engine won't run in it.

Latest makers are updating their game engines thanks to the availability of adeguate tools for developement; when you go to fullscreen, instead of changing the screen resolution, they increase the windows resolution and to keep a good image quality they're starting to use the hardware filters of the gpu via directx or directdraw , so in emulated environment those type of issue are to be more frequently.
I just played a game from Cross-Over, and it use directx bicubic filter to scale the graphics to the desktop resolution, that made the upscaled images very good, but on image fading my high end video card draw 250watts from the psu (that tell that they made same mistakes in this because that's more than crysis2).
Sometime you can turn off the filters or change the renderer, and keep the edge rough, but if you cannot they may be problems in gpu emulation.

just finished hijiri route, from what i can see, common route is shorter while the heroine route cover most of the story. for the h-scene, it's LONG -.-a. after finishing, i can say i really satisfied with this, with some flaw ofc, since konosora story is better overall

Could you tell me what it says so I can fix the problem?

2. My system locale,time,and date are all Japanese,and yet my game text still shows up weird.I seem to have some of the letters,but nothing else.I've already checked my language packs and re-installed the game.What could help this problem? Or does the error I get have something to do with it?

Sorry for any potential confusion.I'm jumping back into this after about 2 years of little to no H-game play.Thank you so much!

Edit: I played a bit more and the error I described always pops up before a character speaks.I hear the voice,but I've yet to see a picture of anyone.Does that have to do with anything?

Try updating directX.

From the looks of it, your Direct X and VGA Drivers are fine, but your locale settings seems to be messed up.
Make sure you have set the system locale to japan.
and make sure to set your Date and format settings to japan.
