Courting is not similar to dating. It involves a much better commitment to a relationship with a different foundation.

I'll make a thread about it when i'm not worrying about school x-x and I know that most likely, people here will strongly disagree -.-~ so i'm slightly avoiding it right now.

everything in the body plays a part. There are limits of course.
exercise usually can change the body. There are people who eat healthy, exercise and never lose weight.

courting usually happens before or during the dating period. it could be seen as winning someone over or making an impression. a person can also court the parents :))

For anyone that doesn't like the idea of courting or things against dating, pretty please don't let yourself get upset over it x-x
If dating or courting is better for you, that's okay~ :P

I also haven't visited either one since maybe 2009 soooo this is just a few things I remember reading. There are places online that could explain too probably.

Dating tends to think about oneself and not how they can serve the other person.

Courting is an older system that was used since before 1960.
Ever since dating was introduced, divorce and teen pregnancy rates went significantly higher.

Usually there isn't any dating when you court. You always have other people with you when you're with the special person~ except when you're engaged. You learn about each other through families and doing activities with each other, but never just the two of you alone.

You go to parents for guidance and accountability, and become close with the person's parents. Your foundation for the relationship is not based on common reasons for dating. Even if they are what gets you interested, there's usually that foundation which both people focus on.

You might not even kiss, hold hands, or do anything romantic until you're engaged. I know a couple that did that. They courted for 6 years, and had their first kiss on their wedding. They even asked their parents if they could hold hands, even though both of them are adults.

Courting means that you know you love that person, and you're willing to be committed. You might even be betrothed at a very young age. The biggest part of courting is that it puts God as their foundation. They become accountable for their temptations, trouble, anything really~

Some people set levels of a relationship, and say when you're able to start courting. It's not like you go up to a random person and say "let's get married." You also take more time to know that person first~
You have to really know that you love this person, and let people around you be your guidance for a healthy relationship.

People that date have divorce more than courters. x-x
This is because of the dating mindset, where people feel like it's okay to break up if they wanted to. God says he hates divorce, but there are some exceptions to where he would allow it. But some people would try to fix their marriage, which I've seen them succeed before. They didn't give up when it was difficult.
