A fresh example why exhentai aka sadpanda has so much NTR tagged stuff that is worthless NTR-wise, http://exhentai.org/g/599568/ecaf4c59ea/ released today instantly get strong NTR vote, i was excited and start reading it, anticipating some kind of NTR for 60 pages, said 'boyfriend' appeared in 2 pages out of 50+ with not even a proper line, and the anti-NTR brigade is all over it /sigh

In my case I can enjoy stuff with cheating and infidelity in general, especially when it's other elements such as the heroine fit with my tastes as well. And I'm a fan of Higenamuchi to begin with so I liked it.

Even so, you're right that manga that focus on a heroine in cheating on her boyfriend/husband where the man in question featured for all of 2-3 panels or is only mentioned second hand in passing, aren't proper NTR. Even if it's going on behind his back, some mention of his circumstances and his awareness or non-awareness of the NTR has to be made in order to identify with him and feel and real sense of the NTR fetish going on.

Stuff without that is what the 'Cheating' tag is meant to be used for, and should be enough. Well I know better than to get all excited simply because something has been tagged NTR these days.
And there is a silver lining. Since with bad labelling, even if it means I get disappointed a 9 out of 10 times, it also makes it that much better when it turns out to be the genuine article. Having a small element of uncertainty isn't always a bad thing.

As you mentioned previously, a generally accepted definition of NTR is making the protagonist someone the readers symphatize with, thus provoking feelings of jelousy in the reader when his love interest is stolen, how can that feeling be evoked with a nameless faceless boyfriend appearing in 1 page, who we dont even know his name, and still consider NTR? if anything, the netori guy is the real protag of the story..

I dont have a problem with NTR tags being disappointing after reading it, just that sometimes i see a work with perfect art tagged NTR, but turns out it is a red herring/false hope and when that keeps happening for months, oh well..

IMO people who rage and upvote NTR for every tiny bit of cheating/hint of unfaithfullness are those with overly idealized picture of women in their mind, who expects women both IRL and in fiction to remain always faithful, hence they cant help but rage and hate on anything that infringes upon their idealistic utopia of virgin girls in their fantasies, refuse to see that IRL, it is more common that a girl cheats/ is not a virgin, and the fact that their obsession over women being perfect/virgins and going as far as to hate and rage over a work of fictions is somewhat disturbing (im not talking about the kind of rage NTR lovers feel, it is more the kind of rage that makes them BURN copies of manga or CDs and sending death threats to the authors)

I guess everyone wants it their own way, some want NTR while others want vanilla, but these so called vanilla lovers wouldnt leave NTR alone, abusing every work with NTR, insulting the authors ( e.g for an NTR doujin involving a main heroine u see comments like IM GONA FIND THIS AUTHOR'S HOUSE AND FUCKING KILL HIM) you see that ALOT, why dont these people just read vanilla then instead of reading the said NTR doujin to the end, the tags are there to see, all in all all these abuse and hate for NTR cant be good for the genre, if only these vanilla obsessed otakus would just ignore NTR instead of abusing and hating on it, maybe there will be more NTR in future...

Ever since awareness of NTR began increasing to the point that most people reasonably familiar with hentai have heard of the fetish and have some understanding of it (accurate or not), the number of haters increases with it.
Probably because most people get into hentai in it's various forms and find out what they like through experience, and usually have to find out the hard way what obscure tags like NTR mean.
So everyone almost always ends up stumbling across NTR accidentally, unless someone warns them about it beforehand. And while there's a small chance they'll end up a convert, most of them with no resistance to the pain of jealousy and betrayal, end up with a trauma, hold a grudge and henceforth go out of their way to single out anything with the faintest hint of an NTR subtext and rage like their hair is about to catch fire over the fact that nobody tagged it NTR.

That's the problem really. It's not all the same people doing it. Give it long enough and most of these people will finally cool off, get tired of obsessing over something they don't even like, or might even develop a taste for it after getting so worked up over it again and again, but either way they stop raging eventually. Unfortunately for every one who gives up and moves on, at least one if not two more are ready to stumble across it for the first time and take their place.
It never ends.

It's funny since I've trawled the darkest depths of Sadpanda, seen things that no man is ever meant to witness. Things that these eyes can never unsee. Glimpsed hints of things I didn't dare open up and get a good look at, for fear my mind would be broken beyond repair.
Shit as fucked up as you'll find anywhere on the internet.
And yet none of it, not the most shocking or depraved of them all, none of the stuff that is actually horribly illegal to practice in RL anywhere in the world, produces as much rapid, spitting fury as comments under any genuine NTR work.

I can't help but laugh. But that's just how it is, and complaining about it isn't going to help. That's one of the big reasons why we have this thread, so we don't have to rely solely on those vote tags, and can keep each other informed. Be grateful we have this much, and none of the ragers come to rant it about it in our own backyard. It could be much worse. Trust me.

Right now I much more bothered by the law they're trying to push through to make it illegal to depict any girl who could conceivably be a minor, meaning any girl in a school uniform regardless of how great her curves are. Now that's disturbing.

LOL true that, i have seen some of the guro in exhentai that is sick and twisted beyond belief, and yet the worst comments i see are omg this author is sick and twisted, but even some of the MILDEST NTR produce death threats and epic nerdrage against the author, thinking about it logically its weird that people emotionally invest on something they hate..

Sometimes i wonder why NTR hate is only in ero, but AV videos where the actress play an unfaithful wife or cheating themed AVs doesnt seem to get much rage? is it something to do with the mental status of the different audience of real AV and eroge..

Well like I've been saying. The imouto game will probably have some NTR developments as part of the greater plot, but it doesn't look to be the main theme. At this point I'm thinking the main plot will centre around the incestuous feelings and development of a love triangle between the protag, sister and step-sister and the angst that results.
Looks like it'll be more plot driven than your average eroge though. Lots of drama and angst, maybe even a hint of school days, if nowhere near as brutal. Probably be a tragic ending.
Think I'll definitely give it a go and hope for a nice NTR twist thrown in along the way.

As for why NTR has so much of a response and on ero and not AV so much, it's probably due to the kind of people it attracts. Ero attracts people who are more invested in fantasy and imagination, than guys watching live porn just looking to get off. The latter don't feel very invested in the characters or situation, while the former are more likely to put themselves in the situation even when the plot is shallow and uninspired.
And NTR is different from other fetishes, in that it revolves around emotional pain and heartbreak vicariously inflicted upon the viewer as a means of arousal. That's what it's designed to do and if a viewer isn't getting any excitement or arousal from the situation, then all they're feeling is the sense of betrayal and heartbreak. No matter how gruesome or obscene other fetishes can be, few of them have that kind of emotional impact and damage. It's hard to just shrug off.
As much as the haters get on my nerves, it's not like I can't understand why they're hurting. Though if they'd just come to terms with it and move on already, then I'd be much happier.

This is a huge pet peeve I have with the exhentai tagging system. It'd be hugely beneficial if you were able to tag individual chapters. Having to sift through hundreds of pages per magazine release to find NTR content is a drag. And my knowledge of authors isn't extensive enough to be able to pick out the ones who might be inclined to write an NTR work beyond the big names like Sanagi Torajirou, Nagare Ippon, Takeda Hiromitsu, etc.

And speaking of Hiromitsu, when is Ima Ria 4 getting translating? The wait is killing me.

You know what, I didn't dislike the first 寝取られナース game even though its plot is something that the creators probably came up with in 5 minutes. Probably has something to do with liking the character design. That and gradual corruption instead of immediate giving-in is always a plus.

Just starting the second game.. and I gotta ask, does the poor bastard actually get NTR'ed 3 times?

In the past (on hongfire) we used to include games with bad endings or Magical Girl games with Type B netorare. Seems our focus here now is mostly strictly NTR only games. I've played a few games lately with bad endings that have NTR routs that aren't covered here. Mostly Black Lilith stuff. Does anyone know of any other good "Bad Ending" games recently?

Or even consenual gang bang stuff. There isn't usually betrayed feelings with this genre but it's actually my favorite type of NTR.

I have not checked the site in a while and i wish i caught this when you posted it lonecow, but Bad Ending games are my favorite as well. Thats why True and Triangle are my favorite blue games, because its almost ALL bad endings. In true you can ignore and not save/prevent her from being Gotten, same with Triangle, by working all the time in the game. In fact now that i think about it, both games only have 1 Good Ending Arc, and the rest are all bad, no less then like 14 each.

Interested in playing these games, but I'm interested in the context. Are the heroines nurses that the protagonist grows attached to, or are they dating? Because strictly "Nurse NTR" doesn't interest me too much, even though I like the art and character designs.

That's not solely based on the arrested uploader, but off all the latest trends in the hentai scene. With eroge, I agree that there's always going to be someone new to step up. That will probably happen once the pressure dies down and uploaders transition off Share. My other concern however is what's going on with Core magazines. In contrast to the uploader who provide content, those magazines are the actual content and now Megastore is discontinued (the others got some extreme censoring). Then there's the "child porn" laws you mentioned earlier that they're trying to pass in Japan =(.

It definitely feels like we're being bombarded with a series of unfortunately events as of late.
