Shirahama Ken'ichi is an average student who has earned the nickname "Weak Legs" from always getting bullied. One day he meets a cute girl named Fuurinji Miu who helps him build the courage to begin training at a mysterious dojo where she lives. Here Kenichi faces intense training from masters of many different martial arts styles as he attempts to become stronger.



So, my first download thread...

The reason why this is (probably) the best version you can get:

While looking around on AniDB, searching for the best fansub version of Kenichi, I came up with three possible results: Aniboters (Japanese Audio only), Exiled-Destiny and Arigatou.

A lot of people wrote that Aniboters' version would be the best, so I thought about taking that and muxing the English audio from another version in, but then I noticed, that the colours are way too saturated, giving the video an unnatural kinda look AND it has a weird resolution that doesn't result in an aspect ratio of 4:3, but a built-in command in each mkv, forcing a 4:3 display. Didn't notice until I made a comparison shot, which was shown in the original size of the video and looked stretchy. Also there are black borders left and right of the screen.

Exiled-Destiny's version has dual audio, but the video now seems to NOT have ENOUGH colour. Looks pretty pale all over.

Arigatou's version seems perfect in terms of video (not pale but not too much colour either and nice encoding job) and audio (5.1 English AAC, 2.0 Japanese AAC) but it has horrible looking VOBSubs.

So, I took Arigatou's version converted the VOBSubs to ASS, did some Styling and minor alterations and muxed them in, making this (probably) the best version out there.

What I did here, was taking Arigatou's "almost perfect" version of "Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple" and correcting the only downside: The subs.
I took Arigatou's VOBSub, converted it to ASS and did some styling and minor alterations in timing and spelling, thus creating probably the best version out there (since Arigatou's is definitely the best version up to date, in my opinion).

What you have to do with these is: You extract the rar, open mkvmerge, load ep01 (for example), uncheck the subs, add the v2 subs, go to attachments, uncheck all fonts, add the ones from the rar (this isn't a MUST, just makes it look better, more cleaned up) and start muxing.
For episodes 16-20 the fonts can be left as they are, you just have to replace the subs.

in case you haven't noticed yet (which you probably haven't), episodes 40 and 41 are up, 42 is currently uploading (eta probably 30 minutes) and 43 is done and will be uploaded when i get home.

episode 44 is up and believe me, this one was a pain!!! took my 2 1/2 hours to do the subs...

right now i'm prepping the remaining subs from episodes 45-50 for styling (converting the vobsubs to ass with subtitle edit), so i have that out of the way and can get the episodes ready a bit faster. that way i should probably be able to get the remaining episodes up by the end of this week. AGAIN: not making any promises

sorry to have a break at such a cliffhanger, but the last episode, number 50, will be a real pain, having tons of background songs, meaning that i have to edit every single one of about 60-70% of all the lines manually. (is that correct english?!? you get what i mean, though...)
