Hmm, is it normal (with the crack) to keep getting errors, and have the paperdolls never show up?
(Basically I can play through the game with the errors in a separate window, but I never see the characters outside of the h-scenes)?

Change your locale to Japanese. It's common for Willplus games to have this problem if your locale is not Japanese.
