I used to see this panel below the banner. That thing that shows new posts and are categorized (Discussions, Ecchi, Anime, etc.). I don't know if I X'd it out or was removed. If I simply closed it [by accident], how do I bring it back?

You didn't. We've disabled it while we work to sort things out to stabilise our servers. Please see this post for details.
