    I'm using the CS5 Master collection so you should probably get the same. Otherwise, the serial and crack that I'll give you won't work. No worries it's fine. XD

    GIMP eh.. Yes it's quite harder to use that than photoshop :/
    I also first learned to use GIMP before I began using PS until now but I don't really recommend GIMP for gfx-ing... It really just lacks gfx-ing necessities.

    You could try this:
    Download the free trial version of Adobe's Master Collection 5. (The trial and full versions doesn't really have any difference aside from the 30-day trial limit)

    Then I'll give you a working serial key and the host patcher so that it wouldn't bug you on activating your license online. That's it. It's yours for life. XD

    I suppose you already know how "layering" or "layer sequencing/filtering" works or at least heard of that kind of technique already? Aside from that, get some C4Ds, fractals, and bubble or orbs and start learning how you can incorporate them in your composition without ruining it or making it look bad or misplaced. Fractals, specially the smoke ones and the orb/bubble effects are the easiest to learn how to use and are just nice to use as a good "touch-up" in most compositions. You'll also need to learn your way around some masking techniques so that you can control the flow of the effects or elements you use more. But try to learn things one at a time and don't cram them all at once. You won't learn that way. XD

    I was just like everyone else when I was still learning the ropes and started my leisurely walk with gfx-ing XD
    I also just happened to meet some good people in the old forums I used to hang out too and they were the ones who mentored me so I guess I was just returning the favor. XD

    Although I'm still nowhere near their skills. I'd still lose to them in a round-robin match hahahaha :XD:

    Hmm...
    It lacks some fundamentals like the flow, effects and emphasis.
    It's an eye-candy at first glance but if other experienced artists where to look at it again, they might just say the same thing. It's pleasing to the eyes because it's cute, the color scheme looks nice with the whole composition and it's fanboy or otaku material. But, personally, I think you should really add more "spark" and fix the displacement. Shadings and and burning some part of the sig also helps increase depth if you align it with proper lighting direction. And make sure the lower part of the render is "inside" the border leaving the upper part outside to increase depth in case you want to use the border. Otherwise, remove it or change it with a two-color gradient that compliments the whole composition. Set the gradient's angle to 12 o-clock and make sure the right colors match for the lower and upper parts of the sig.
