Why do you enjoy playing otome games? What draws you to the genre?

The pretty art was the thing that drew me in. I also liked that it wasn't written for the male gaze, which is something that makes me a bit apprehensive about other genres of visual novels besides BL.

I like romantic stories but unfortunately in those books or stories i read , sometimes the heroine end up with the male lead i didn't like or i didn't cheer for
i started feeling sad for second male lead because he deserves to be with heroine more
So playing otome games gives me the chance to choose who to fall in love with and avoid seeing the second male lead's sad face
