What's an otome game trope that you didn't like initially but eventually grew on you?

For me, I initially hated the yandere trope. For years, I couldn't understand why Toma seemed so popular despite that one ending with amnesia, or why people would like such LIs with such questionable behavior. Though recently I've started to get more into the darker games, and I think I'm starting to get it, at least in my own way, lmao.
The more exposure I got, the more it honestly started to grow on me. I've always been a fan of the psychological horror genre in media, and at some point I started to really like well-written, complex yanderes. They're enjoyable when I play them with the intention of getting scared or uncomfortable. Or maybe it's just the exposure therapy talking lmao

Flirty LIs (lol)

Back when I first started playing otome games, I hated flirty LIs so much. They treated everyone equally (giving a "so close, yet so far" feeling), and the thought that I would never be their number one was so irritating. As time went on, I grew to understand them a little better, and now I don't hate this type of LI as much as I used to lol

omg me too! I used to dislike the flirty ones because womanizers are icky, and it feels like they might just be playing with you, which is ew, but they started growing on me eventually too, and I kinda felt bad for judging so quickly. Sometimes they're just sweethearts and balls of joy that attract people, or it's a coping mechanism due to their past 💔
