This has been something that I've had for years and never bothered to try and resolve... no clue why I decided to try and figure it out now.
For as long as I can remember I've had a notification about a new visitor message, but when I try and view it, there's nothing ever there. I tried going into the user settings and disabling visitor messages. This removes the notification and shows "Notifications 0", however when I enable notifications again, that notification for a new visitor message is still there.
