"春画先生"と呼ばれる変わり者で有名な研究者・芳賀一郎は、妻に 先立たれ世捨て人のように、一人研究に没頭していた。退屈な日々を過ごしていた春野弓子は、芳賀から春画鑑賞を学び、その奥深い魅力 に心を奪われ芳賀に恋心を抱いていく。やがて芳賀が執筆する「春画大全」を早く完成させようと躍起になる編集者・辻村や、芳賀の亡き 妻の姉・一葉の登場で大きな波乱が巻き起こる。それは弓子の"覚醒"のはじまりだった―。
