A strange power called Beatrice responds to the will of certain people and is capable of doing many wondrous and dangerous things. And Yoshimura Mamoru has been accepted to a high school that specialises in teaching the use of this magic power.
On his way to school, Mamoru notices a pretty second-year student standing under the cherry trees. After a few words with her, she suddenly blushes and asks him to go out with her! — And so Takasu Ayako becomes Mamoru's girlfriend. She is a year older than him, taller, very beautiful, the committee leader for school discipline, a genius at using her Beatrice powers and the terror of the school. Nobody would ever believe Mamoru if he tried to tell them that she is really a very nice and shy girl.
In his first class, Mamoru is surprised that everybody is staring at him — as it turns out this is due to the rumour that Ayako, the Angel of Death, actually confessed to him! And then suddenly, he is summoned to the student council chambers and offered a position with Ayako on her student committee. It is indeed going to be a very busy school year for Mamoru.
