I am so confused about .mdf and .mds files?

So I recently downloaded that game known as Innocent Eyes and these .mdf and .mds files are completely alien to me. What I am supposed to do with them, like how do I mount these files?

These files are similar to iso files, which were more commonly used in the past.
So you just mount them with mounting software like for instance: Daemon Tools, WinCDemu or pAlcohol, etc.
When first installing such software it will ask for permission to install the necessary drivers.
I prefer pAlcohol so here is a download link for that: pAlcohol.rar

Then you just drag the smaller file inside:.cue, .mds, .img, .iso
Go to your harddrives (C:, D:, etc.) and there should be the mounted Disc too.
Now you either double click it to start the setup or you can right click it and open it in new folder and start setup manually.

(When installing older games it can also be necessary to install a virtual machine with like
Windows XP or 7 but in most cases the games will also run on windows 10)
