Well, I'm stuck at the second floor of the manor. The floor with eight rooms (actually an extra ninth room too) with doors that...don't actually send you where they should. From what I've been able to tell:

  • Most doors send you to a fixed destination, though only a few send you where they should.
  • Some doors within rooms occasionally send you to a completely different place. I have yet to determine whether it depends on where you were prior to that room, which side of the double doors you enter, whether you choose to click on the door or walk through it, or just pure RNG.
  • The living doll in one of the rooms is a death trap. If you talk to it, you will die no matter what you pick unless you have a certain item (detailed below).

What I've gathered from reading the creator's reply to comments on his blog (I can't comment to ask him directly because it's region blocked and VPNs can't get around it):

  • In addition to the bloody, torn scrap of paper on the floor in one of the rooms, you can also obtain the missing portion from the living doll by handing it an item it's looking for. There are no further hints regarding this.
  • Combining the two scraps will provide the full "solution" to the maze, allowing you to proceed with the story.
  • It's possible to solve it without obtaining the scraps, but it appears to bug out the game or something...

I've been to the ninth room and talked to the otaku, found the first scrap, found the herbicide, and found the cleaver. From what I've gathered, the latter two are used for later parts of the game. Something curious I've found is that there's something soft and malleable in one of the dressers in the ninth room, but I can't do anything about it. Also, part of one of the walls in the hallway is kind of glitched out in that I can actually walk two or three steps into it. There's nothing inside it though.

Anyone who's played this game have any ideas?
