If I edit a previous comment I've done on a thread will that be visible for everyone who is subscribed to that thread as a notfication?
In other words is it better to post an entire new comment on a "kinda dead" thread or is it better to edit your old one? Does it even matter?

Edit your old one. Unless your post will instill new life into the thread with ground-breaking new information, there's no reason to double-post.
