Does the latest AlphaRom work with older games (>5 years)?

I have some older games that used the recent AlphaRom Build at the time they were released and was wondering with the newest build (as of this post), will it work on games way back like 2013?

Also, do all cracks files come from alpharom builds or are they created separately?
